Unplanned Absence. In the case of illness or emergency, the employee will notify their manager (via email or phone) as soon as possible, normally before the commencement of their next shift. Wellness days must be used for unplanned absences such as illness or emergency prior to accessing other banks. Where an employee has exhausted their annual wellness day entitlement, they may request, in writing, the use of vacation credits or time in lieu for salary continuance.
