Usage of Seniority. Seniority shall be used for determining, selecting and/or assigning various rights and privileges among and between bargaining unit members as specifically described in other portions of this Agreement, and for no other purpose.
Usage of Seniority. 35 The employee with the earliest hire date shall have preferential rights regarding shift selection, 36 transfers, extra field transportation trips, and vacations, when applicable. Usage of Seniority. Internal choices traditionally made in the police department shall be made in order of seniority as computed on the basis of uninterrupted service within each classification within the Steubenville Police Department. Additionally, in all matters wherein the Employer shall give consideration and evaluate two or more employees within a particular classification on a comparative basis, such as, but not limited to, job vacancies, vacation selection, and holiday leave as described herein this agreement, said selection shall be awarded on the basis of seniority should all other factors in the evaluation process be considered equal.
Usage of Seniority. Based on ability and performance, the employee with the earliest seniority date shall have preferential rights, regarding lay-offs. Ability and performance shall be determined by the following in order of priority: pay level, known skills, and evaluation. The District will determine questions of equal qualifications.
