Vacation Accrual -- Annual Leave. A. Accrual -- Twelve-month Employees 1. First three years of employment -- one and one-fourth days per month (15 days maximum per fiscal year). 2. Effective the first month following School Board ratification of the 2016-2017 reopener contract, eligible full-time employees in their fourth year of employment and thereafter shall accrue 1.917 days per month (23 - maximum days per fiscal year). This accrual rate remains in effect until such time as the vacation accrual rate begins to be reduced for other bargaining units and/or employee groups. B. Accrual Provisions 1. The accrual period for vacation leave is a calendar month. Leave quotas are calculated and accumulated on the last day of the calendar month. 2. To receive credit for an accrual month, the employee must be eligible for pay for 11 days or more during any month (as defined above). 3. A year of employment is defined as a year of service with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, which is more than one-half the fiscal year. 4. The effective date of accrual rate changes to be determined as of July 1 following the fiscal year during which the employee completes creditable service, as applicable. 5. Responsible supervisors should make every effort to ensure that earned annual leave is used on a current yearly basis in order to provide employees with vacation and proper rest and relaxation. If the employee has not used his/her annual leave during the year in which it was accrued, the employee may accrue a maximum of 62.5 days of annual leave effective the day after the ratification of the 2020-2021 contract. Any employee who accrues the maximum of 62.5 days of annual leave shall not accrue additional annual leave credits at the end of the month during which the maximum has been reached. All accrued vacation shall be paid pursuant to Florida law to the employee for early or normal retirement, or resignation, or to his/her beneficiaries, if services are terminated by death.

  • Vacation Accrual Rates Laid off employees who are re-employed shall have the vacation accrual rate they held immediately prior to layoff restored.

  • Vacation Accrual ‌ A. During the first three (3) years of employment, a full-time employee in a regular or limited-term position shall earn .0385 hours of vacation for each hour of pay during his or her regularly scheduled workweek (approximately eighty [80] hours per year). Part-time employees will earn vacation on a pro- rated basis. Such credit shall be applied to the employee's vacation accrual account only upon completion of each pay period. B. After an employee in a regular or limited-term position has been paid for six thousand two hundred forty (6240) regularly scheduled hours, the employee shall earn .0577 hours of vacation for each hour of pay during his or her regularly scheduled workweek (approximately one hundred twenty [120] hours per year), but not to exceed credit for more than eighty (80) regularly scheduled hours in any pay period. Such credit shall be applied to the employee's vacation accrual account only upon completion of each pay period. C. Commencing with the pay period following that in which the employee completed ten (10) years of continuous full-time County service (20,800 regularly scheduled hours), an employee in a regular or limited-term position shall earn .077 hours of vacation for each hour of pay during his or her regularly scheduled workweek (approximately one hundred sixty [160] hours per year), under the same terms and conditions as under subsection B., above. D. The maximum allowable vacation credit an employee may accrue at any one (1) time for employees with less than ten (10) years of continuous County service shall be two hundred forty (240) hours. The maximum allowable vacation credit an employee may accrue at any one (1) time for employees with ten (10) or more years of continuous County service (20,800 regularly scheduled hours) shall be three hundred twenty (320) hours. An employee who has accrued the maximum allowable vacation credit will not accrue additional credit until the employee’s vacation credit drops below the maximum allowed.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual Rate Schedule Full Years of Service Hours Per Year

  • Sick Leave Accrual All eligible employees shall accrue sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per pay period of continuous employment beginning with their date of eligibility. Eligible employees being paid for less than a full eighty (80) hour pay period shall have sick leave accruals pro-rated in accord with the schedule set forth in Appendix D.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • Accumulation of Vacation Leave Credits An employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each calendar month during which the employee receives pay for at least ten (10) days at the following rate:

  • Vacation Accumulation (a) Vacations are not cumulative from year to year. (b) Notwithstanding the above, the Employer may grant a special request from an employee to carryover a maximum of five (5) vacation days into the next year. The employee shall specify in her request to the Employer the purpose for which she is seeking the carryover. (c) During the first year of employment, a full time employee with at least six

  • Vacation Leave Credits ‌ Full-time and part-time employees will be credited with vacation leave accrued monthly, according to the rate schedule and vacation leave accrual below.

  • Entitlement to Annual Leave An employee is entitled to accrue an amount of paid annual leave, for each completed 4 week period of continuous service with the company, of 1 / 13 of the number of nominal hours worked by the employee during that 4 week period. Example: An employee whose nominal hours worked for a 12 month period were 38 hours per week would be entitled to 152 hours of annual leave (which would be the equivalent of 4 weeks of annual leave if his or her nominal hours worked remained unchanged).
