Verbal Coaching. This is the first step to assist employees in meeting performance standards. Management will specifically state to the employee they are being given a verbal coaching. The verbal coaching will address specific concerns and detail performance expectations. Verbal coaching's may be written to memorialize the conversation however will not be placed in the employee's personnel file. Verbal coaching sessions should be positive and supportive.
Verbal Coaching. Verbal coaching involves a discussion between a supervisor and an employee to address performance or conduct concerns of a minor nature. Verbal coaching is intended as an informal discussion between the supervisor and the employee and does not need to be documented.
