Verbal Warnings. When the District gives an employee a verbal warning or reprimand, the ONLY record of such a verbal warning or reprimand shall be:
A. The District may place a short, one-sentence memo in the employee’s personnel file containing a simple statement that a verbal warning or reprimand was issued. Example: “On March 30, 2002, Xxxx Xxx was given a verbal warning about being late for work.” A copy of the verbal warning shall be given to the employee and the Union.
B. The administrator may also prepare a more detailed summary of the meeting at which the verbal warning or reprimand is issued. This summary is for the administrator’s recollection only, and shall be considered to be a private record of the administrator. It will not be placed in the employee’s personnel file, or used for any other purpose.
Verbal Warnings. Documented verbal warning notices provided for herein shall not remain in effect for more than twelve (12) months from the date of such warning notice and shall thereafter be purged from the employee’s personnel file and supervisory/working file.
Verbal Warnings. The immediate supervisor shall inform the unit member that this is the first step of progressive discipline. The supervisor shall give a reasonable period following a verbal warning to permit the worker to correct the problem without incurring more severe disciplinary action.
Verbal Warnings. The supervisor shall identify a specific period of time following the verbal warning to permit the worker to correct the problem.
Verbal Warnings. Whenever the Board or its authorized agent deem it necessary to censure an employee indicating that disciplinary action may be taken, an employee shall be given a verbal warning first unless the employee's actions causing the discipline would warrant more severe disciplinary action.
Verbal Warnings. A verbal warning will be issued directly to the employee with documentation of the warning included in her/his personnel file.
Verbal Warnings. Except in those situations where an emergency suspension is justified, an employee whose work or conduct is of such character as to incur discipline shall first be specifically warned by the supervisor. Such warnings shall state the reasons underlying any intention the supervisor may have of recommending any disciplinary action. A copy of any written warning shall be sent to the Chapter President unless otherwise requested by the unit member. The supervisor, normally, shall give a reasonable period of advance warning to permit the employee to correct the deficiency without incurring disciplinary action. Written warnings are not appealable and are therefore not subject to a Xxxxxx meeting, an appeal hearing, or grievance procedures (Article 13).
Verbal Warnings. This form of disciplinary action may be used to correct and/or warn an employee of errors, poor work performance or violation of a minor nature.
Verbal Warnings. A verbal warning is an oral reprimand given to an employee by any supervisor. A written record of the warning shall be recorded in the employee’s departmental file.
Verbal Warnings. 13.4.1 A supervisor who has a concern with a staff member’s performance may issue a “verbal warning.” A verbal warning will state clearly what aspect of the staff member’s performance is considered to be unsatisfactory, and how performance is to be improved. The supervisor will give the staff member an opportunity to provide her/his explanation of the events. The supervisor will advise the employee of further action that may be taken should the behaviour not be corrected.
13.4.2 The supervisor will keep a record of the date on which a verbal warning was issued to a staff member, and the subject of the conversation. The staff member is also encouraged to keep a record of the verbal warning.
13.4.3 The supervisor will inform the staff member that the conversation constitutes a verbal warning.
