Work on Office Holidays a. In the event the Employer determines that an area maintain operations during an Office Holiday, a Working Conditions meeting shall be called at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance of the Office Holiday for the purpose of consulting with the Union concerning staffing arrangements.

Work on Office Holidays. (a) The Working Conditions Committee may require that an area maintain operations during an Office Holiday. The Union will make every effort to provide adequate staffing.
Work on Office Holidays. Permanent Employees Permanent employees shall be entitled to the above holidays, or a day in lieu of the above holidays by mutual agreement, at their regular rate of pay for their normal number of daily working hours. A permanent employee who is required to work on an office holiday may choose: pay at double time and one (1) paid day off; or pay at straight time and two (2) paid days off. Time of shall be by mutual agreement. Full- time emergency fill-in, term, replacement and externally funded employees who are required to work on office holidays shall receive pay at double time. When a permanent employee is on vacation or a flex day and an office holiday occurs during that period, the office holiday shall not count as a day of vacation or a flex day. Such vacation day or flex day shall be taken at a later date to be scheduled by mutual agreement. Should the University or any area of the University that affects the operation of the SUB be closed temporarily due to unforeseen environmental conditions, utility disruptions, Acts of God or other reasons beyond the control of the employees covered by this Agreement, each normal work day during such closure shall be an office holiday up to a maximum of three (3) days or any shifts occurring within that three (3) day period. Should the SUB, or a portion thereof, be temporarily closed due to expansion, repairs or scheduled utility disruptions, the Employer agrees to provide one

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS The University observes the following days as administrative holidays:

  • Holiday Worked In addition to Subsection A above, employees will be compensated for the hours actually worked on a holiday at the overtime rate, in accordance with Article 17, Overtime.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • GENERAL HOLIDAYS 13.01 The following days shall be recognized and considered as paid general holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Xxxxx Xxx Day and any other day or portion of a day designated as a paid holiday by the Civic, Provincial or Federal Government.

  • Overtime Holidays Double time the regular rate for work on the following holiday(s). New Year's Day

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Annual Holidays (i) On completion of 12 months continuous service an employee shall be entitled to annual paid leave of 4 working weeks.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Unworked Holidays Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has worked both the last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and the first scheduled shift succeeding the holiday shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.
