Work Performed on Public Holidays. Where an employee, other than a casual employee, is required to work during ordinary hours on a proclaimed public holiday, payment will be at the ordinary rate plus 150%. The University and the employee may agree to take time off in lieu for time worked on the public holiday. The employee would then be paid at ordinary rates for the actual time worked and time off in lieu would be calculated at 1.5 times the hours worked.

Work Performed on Public Holidays. 4.8.1. A worker who is required to work on a Public Holiday shall be guaranteed a minimum of eight (8) hours pay at the appropriate overtime rate. That is, triple time for the first eight (8) hours and four (4) times thereafter.

  • Public Holidays 11.1 The following days are public holidays: New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and any other gazetted public holidays in the relevant state or territory in which the work is being performed, other than:

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Holiday Work Employees who work on a holiday shall receive one and one-half (1-1/2) times their straight time regular rate of pay for all hours actually worked on the holiday, plus holiday pay.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Holiday Worked In addition to Subsection A above, employees will be compensated for the hours actually worked on a holiday at the overtime rate, in accordance with Article 17, Overtime.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.
