Working Out of Position. Classification‌ The Board will make every effort to temporarily reassign bargaining unit members into positions which are open due to an employee being absent if the absence is expected to continue for more than ten (10) days. Employees interested in such temporary reassignment must express their interest to their supervisor in writing. Such request shall be considered based on employee skills and work record. If no employee within the department is interested in the position, employees from outside the department may request such reassignment; such request shall be considered based on employee skills and work record. Employees temporarily reassigned shall return to their previous position upon return of the absent employee. All such temporary reassignments (for experience and qualifications) shall be offered to employees on a voluntary basis and shall be looked at as a means for bargaining unit members to accumulate experience and obtain qualifications for vacant positions within the district. Employees requesting temporary reassignments must possess appropriate licenses and/or certifications required for the position requested. Time spent in a temporary reassignment shall be recorded by the employee with duties performed noted. Such form must be signed by the supervisor and will be placed in the employee’s personnel file.

Working Out of Position. Subject to the provisions in Policy and Procedures Manual Section 3032, Out-of-Class pay, employees directed by their supervisor and assigned to work in a higher salary range position for a period exceeding a full 40 hours of holiday pay and non-overtime hours (productive time) shall be paid in the step of the higher salary range that is deemed by the District Administrator to best reflect the work performed, but no less than a 5% increment over their regular rate of pay, for the entire period that they are required to work out of classification except that the higher salary range cannot be exceeded. The determination of whether an employee has worked out of position will be made solely by the District Administrator in his reasonable discretion and any such decision will not be arbitrary or capricious. The District Administrator’s determination shall be final.

  • Working Out of Class Section 1 Whenever an employee is requested to perform the tasks of a higher graded position that employee shall receive the rate of pay of that higher graded position or five percent (5%) above his/her regular rate of pay if the rate of pay for the higher graded position is less than five percent (5%) over and above that employee's regular rate of pay and his/her regular position whichever is greater for each and every hour worked in any higher grade during that contract year.

  • Working Out of Classification 11.1 Employer shall avoid, whenever possible, working an employee on an out-of-class assignment for a prolonged period of time. Any employee working an out-of-class assignment for a period in excess of fifteen (15) working days during a year shall receive the rate of pay for the out-of-class assignment in a higher classification not later than the sixteenth (16th) day of such assignment. For purposes of this Article, an out-of-class assignment is defined as an assignment of an employee to perform, on a full-time basis, all of the significant duties and responsibilities of a position different from the employee’s regular position, and which is in a classification higher than the classification held by such employee. The rate of pay for an approved out-of-class assignment shall be the same rate the employee would receive if such employee received a regular appointment to the higher classification.

  • Abandonment of Position An employee who fails to report for duty for three (3) consecutive working days without informing the Employer of the reason for her absence will be presumed to have abandoned her position. An employee shall be afforded the opportunity within ten (10) working days to rebut such presumption and demonstrate that there were reasonable grounds for not informing the Employer.

  • Elimination of Positions Existing positions of special responsibility shall not be eliminated or changed without prior consultation with the Association.

  • Posting of Positions Notice of any opening for a promotional position shall be posted in all schools and departments by the Division of Human Resources & Equity.

  • Filling of Positions All eligible employees under Section 3 who have made a timely interest bid, and meet the minimum qualifications, shall be given consideration and may be appointed to the opening prior to the consideration of other non-interest bidding applicants and prior to filling the vacancy through other means. The Appointing Authority shall not be arbitrary, capricious, or discriminatory and must have a legitimate business reason to reject all of the interest bidders. Seniority of the interest bidders shall not be a factor in appointing employees from among the interest bidders. All interest bidders shall be notified orally or in writing, which may include electronic mailing, as to the status (either under consideration, acceptance, or rejection) of their interest bid in a timely manner. If the vacancy is not filled by an employee under this Section, then it shall be filled in the following order:
