The optically activated, cancer-targeted CORMs present- ed in this work display excellent properties as molecular logic devices since they can process concomitantly electromagnetic, chemical, and environmental information.[28–30] Herein, photoCORMs compounds 1–2 (Scheme 1) combine a [MnI(CO)3] CO-rich fragment with a potentially emissive dipico- lylamine-1,8-naphthalimide ligand, while 2 also integrates a biotin tether. The group performs research on Discrete Mathematics, Computer Algebra and its applications and is one of the main contributors to the OpenMath standard. Results in the past include software pack- ages for Algebra and Discrete Mathematics for Lie theory, for non-commutative algebra, for codes, and for graphs. Also, the group has produced an OpenMath Library for the construc- tion of phrasebooks, several phrasebooks for interfacing mathematical software, and Interactive Algebra Lecture Notes (published by Springer Verlag). The group has extensive teaching ex- perience (at under- and postgraduate level) in their respective specialties.
