Y DUTY. If an employee is for jury duty or crown witness on his normal working day, the Company agrees to pay the equivalent of an eight (8) hour day at straight time pay, It is in the application of this that if a day employee is released from jury prior to four (4) hours before the end of his normal shift, he must report for work as soon as possible to be entitled to his benefit. A night employee serving a full day on jury duty will receive the above benefits and will not be required to report for work that night, A night employee who is released from jury duty prior to xxxx will report to work for his normal shift that night.

Y DUTY. When an employee is selected to serve as a juror, the employer will pay the difference between the fee for jury duty and the employees base rate of pay up to a maximum of eight hours per day for each day required to serve. The employer may require proof of jury fees received.
Y DUTY. An employee who is called for jury service shall be excused work on which and he shall receive, for each such day of jury service on which he otherwise would have worked, the difference between eight (8) times his base hourly rate (exclusive of overtime and shift premiums) and the payment he receives for jury service. The employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received therefor.

  • Jury Duty 31.1 An employee who is summoned for jury duty and is required to lose time from his assignment as a result thereof, shall be paid for actual time lost with a maximum of one basic day's pay at the straight time rate of his position for each day lost, less the amount allowed him for jury duty for each such day excluding allowances paid by the court for meals, lodging or transportation, subject to the following requirements and limitations:

  • Civic Duty Whenever an employee is served with a subpoena by a court of competent jurisdiction which compels his/her presence as a witness during his/her normal working period, unless he/she is a party to the litigation or an expert witness, such employee shall be granted time off with pay in the amount of the difference between the employee's regular earnings and any amount he/she receives for such appearance. This Article is not applicable to appearances for which the employee receives compensation in excess of his/her regular earnings. A court of competent jurisdiction is defined as a court within the County in which the employee resides or if outside the county of residence, the place of appearance must be within 150 miles of the employee's residence.

  • Fiduciary Duty (a) To the extent that, at law or in equity, an Indemnified Person has duties (including fiduciary duties) and liabilities relating thereto to the Trust or to any other Covered Person, an Indemnified Person acting under this Trust Agreement shall not be liable to the Trust or to any other Covered Person for its good faith reliance on the provisions of this Trust Agreement. The provisions of this Trust Agreement, to the extent that they restrict the duties and liabilities of an Indemnified Person otherwise existing at law or in equity (other than the duties imposed on the Property Trustee under the Trust Indenture Act), are agreed by the parties hereto to replace such other duties and liabilities of such Indemnified Person;

  • JURY DUTY PAY All employees required to serve on jury duty shall be paid by the School District the difference between their regular pay and jury duty pay. In implementing this section, the School District shall continue to pay the employee the regular rate of pay and the employee shall be obligated upon receipt of the jury duty pay from the governmental agency to immediately remit any witness fees received to the School District less any mileage expenses. Absences under this section shall not be deducted from accumulated leave.

  • Military Duty Employees who participate in activities related to the reserve component of the Canadian Armed Forces may be granted leave of absence without pay for this purpose. Such time off will not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Standby Duty (a) An employee shall be on standby duty when required to be available for work outside his/her normal working hours, and subject to restrictions consistent with the FLSA which would prevent the employee from using the time while on standby duty effectively for the employee’s own purposes.

  • Jury Duty/Subpoena A. An employee shall be allowed such time off without loss of compensation as is required in connection with mandatory jury duty. If payment is made for such time off, the employee is required to remit to the State jury fees received. When night jury service is required of an employee, the employee shall be allowed time off without loss of compensation for such portion of the required time that coincides with the employee's normal work schedule. This includes any necessary travel time.

  • Off Duty day - Except where the provisions of 10.3.1 apply, if a public holiday, other than Waitangi Day and ANZAC Day, falls on a rostered employee's off duty day (such off duty day not being a Saturday or a Sunday) the employee shall be granted an additional day's leave at a later date convenient to the Employer.
