Academic year means the period of twelve months beginning on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July or 1st September according to whether the course in question begins in the winter, the spring, the summer or the autumn respectively but if students are required to begin attending the course during August or September and to continue attending through the autumn, the academic year of the course is to be considered to begin in the autumn rather than the summer;
Academic Board means the Academic Board of the University College established under paragraph 13;
scientific research means any activity in the field of natural or applied science for the extension of knowledge;
Academic Council means the Academic Council of the University;
Academic Unit means an Academic Department, research unit, School, non-departmentalized Faculty, Xxxxxxxx Campus Division, Faculty of Medicine Division, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, the Counselling Centre, or the University Library, to which one (1) or more ASMs have their primary or sole appointment. For Faculty Members at Xxxxxxxx Campus who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the Xxxxxxxx Campus. For Faculty Members in the Faculty of Medicine who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the Faculty.
academic staff means such categories of staff as are designated as academic staff by the Ordinances;
Licensed mental health professional or "LMHP" means a physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner, licensed marriage and family therapist, certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, licensed behavior analyst, or licensed psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner.
Donation means voluntary contributions in money or in kind (including goods or services etc.) to individuals or charitable entities (such as foundations, associations and other nonprofit organizations); universities and other schools; and other private or public legal entities or organizations etc. to advocate a philanthropic cause, serve the public interest and help achieve a social goal, without a consideration received in return.
Academic employee Academic employee shall mean an employee in the Professional Services Negotiating Unit with academic or qualified academic rank.
Medicine means allopathic medicine as practiced by the
Career and technical education (CTE) means an educational program that supports attainment of a high school diploma, designed to provide students with technical knowledge, skills, and aptitudes to prepare them for further education, enhance their employment options or lead to a postsecondary or industry-recognized credential, and strengthen their ability to work collaboratively in their chosen occupations or careers with all persons.
Academic and professional matters means the following policy development and implementation matters:
Licensed Medical Practitioner means a person who is licensed, certified, and/or registered, in accordance with applicable Federal, State, local, or foreign laws and regulations, to prescribe controlled substances and other drugs.
Qualified mental health professional means a licensed medical practitioner or any other person meeting the qualifications specified in OAR 309-019-0125.
Designated mental health professional means a mental health
Research and development means (1) theoretical analysis, exploration, or experimentation; or (2) the extension of investigative findings and theories of a scientific or technical nature into practical application for experimental and demonstration purposes, including the experimental production and testing of models, devices, equipment, materials, and processes. Research and development does not include the internal or external administration of radiation or radioactive material to human beings.
Medical cannabis card means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.
Professional Technologist means a person holding registration as Professional Engineering Technologist in terms of the Engineering Profession Act, 2000.
Qualified Medical Practitioner means any person legally authorized by the Government with jurisdiction in the geographical area of his or her practice to render medical or surgical service, but excluding a qualified medical practitioner who is the Insured Person or an Immediate Family Member of the Insured Person.
Licensed health professional means a physician; physician assistant; nurse practitioner; physical, speech or occupational therapist; registered professional nurse; licensed practical nurse; or licensed or certified social worker.
Esthetician means an individual who engages in the practice of esthetics but no other branch of cosmetology in a licensed facility.
Diversional Therapist means a person who provides, facilitates and co-ordinates group and individual leisure and recreational activities. This person must be a graduate from an approved university course which includes: An Associate Diploma and Diploma of Applied Science (Diversional Therapy); Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Leisure and Health); Bachelor of Applied Science (Diversional Therapy); Diploma or Bachelor of Health Sciences (Leisure and Health); an Associate Diploma course in Diversional Therapy; or who has such other qualifications deemed to be equivalent (such as a Four-year degree, Master’s Degree or PhD).
Academy means the academy named at the beginning of this Disciplinary Policy and Procedure and includes all sites upon which the academy undertaking is, from time to time, being carried out.
Veterinarian means a veterinarian authorized by law to practice veterinary medicine in this State.
Adult means a person 18 years of age or older.
Medical cannabis pharmacy means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.
