Free Day definition

Free Day means a period of time during which Artists may not be required to rehearse, or perform, or otherwise provide services for Employer without additional compensation. The said period of time shall commence at midnight and end at 9 a.m. on the morning of the second following day. The designation of Free Days and compensation for rehearsing, performing or otherwise providing services on Free Days shall be as set forth in Section 15.3.
Free Day means a day (from one midnight to the next midnight) on which the Musician cannot be scheduled by the Company to work and is a day that may not be used by the Company as travel time or for any other call on the Musician’s services;
Free Day means a period of time commencing at midnight and ending at 9:00 a. m. the morning of the second day, during which no ARTIST’S Services and/or travel shall be required. Regardless of the number of contracts for which ARTIST is engaged, s/he shall not be required to render any ARTIST’S services and /or travel for more than a total of ten (10) consecutive days without a FREE DAY. The eleventh consecutive day must be a FREE DAY for PRODUCTION STAFF. If any PRODUCTION STAFF member is required to work eleven or more consecutive days, the eleventh day and each consecutive day until the next FREE DAY shall be compensated at one-sixth (1/6) of the weekly salary in addition to the regular salary. The total number of delineated FREE DAYS for a PRODUCTION STAFF Member will be equal to the number of weeks in the Individual Artist Contract (one (1) FREE DAY per seven (7) day week).

Examples of Free Day in a sentence

  • An Artist may not be called to rehearse on the day following the Free Day except after 1:00 p.m. for one (1) continuous call of up to five (5) hours.

  • Such rehearsals shall take place on a day when there is not more than one (1) performance and shall not take place on the day immediately following the Free Day.

  • If the performance immediately prior to a Free Day runs beyond 12:00 midnight, the Artist may not be called during the subsequent thirty-three (33) hours after the final curtain in the Point of Origin; or the subsequent thirty-two (32) hours after the final curtain outside the Point of Origin.

  • The Theatre reserves the right with a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice to designate the additional Free Day.

  • STORAGE DAYS: Storage days will commence from the first 12:01 AM following the last Free Day and continue until the unit is picked up by the customer.


More Definitions of Free Day

Free Day means a period of time commencing at 1:00 a.m. and ending at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the second (2nd) day, during which no MEMBER’s services and/or travel shall be required. A FREE DAY must be included within each seven (7) day period, and may fall on a Holiday described in Section 28.A.
Free Day means any day during which a Production Staff member may not be required by the Agreement to rehearse, perform, travel, or do other work, including but not limited to monitoring and responding to emails, texts, and other Company communications. The Company shall not penalize or retaliate against any Production Staff member for declining to perform work on their Free Day. The Company shall assign the day that each Free Day is taken in accord with the provisions of this subsection. Free days shall only be the days that have been specifically assigned by the Company as free days. No more than 8 days may elapse without a free day (i.e., the 9th consecutive day following the last free day taken must be a free day).
Free Day means any of seven (7) days of a performance or rehearsal week commencing at 1:30 A.M., M.D.T. and ending at 9:30 A.M., M.D.T. the morning of the 2nd day, during which no travel, rehearsal, or performance may take place, unless additional compensation is paid as required by this Agreement. Free Day means a period of thirty-three (33) hours, commencing at midnight, during which no ARTIST’s Services and/or travel shall be required. Regardless of the number of contracts for which ARTIST is engaged, ARTIST shall receive one (1) Free Day within each rehearsal and performance week, and they shall not be required to render any ARTIST’s Services and/or travel for more than a total of ten (10) consecutive days without a Free Day, (six (6) consecutive days for CHORISTERs), in which case the eleventh (11th) day, (seventh (7th) day for CHORISTERs), must be a Free Day, except as otherwise provided for in this Agreement.
Free Day means a period of time during which the Artist will not be required to travel, perform, or rehearse, or perform any services or obligations for the Engager whatsoever. The Free Day will not be interrupted by contract-related functions, photo calls, costume fittings or similar activities. Individual Artists may volunteer to perform services for the Engager on a Free Day with prior written approval from CAEA which shall not be unreasonably withheld;

If the ARTIST does not receive a Free Day within ten (10) days (eight (8) days for CHORISTERS), ARTIST shall be compensated at the overtime rate for all services rendered until the ARTIST receives a Free Day.
Free Day means a twenty-four (24) hour period during which the Artist may not be required to travel, rehearse, or perform any services or obligations for the Employer whatsoever. The Free Day shall not be interrupted by Company functions, interviews, photo calls, costume fittings and so forth. Individual Artists shall not volunteer any such services without prior written consent from AGMA. The Employer shall designate the Free Days four (4) weeks in advance on the schedule in both rehearsal and performance weeks. The Employer may, however, change the designated Free Day when such action is necessitated by exceptional circumstances beyond the Employer’s control. The Free Days shall commence at midnight and end at 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the second (2nd) following day. Each performance week shall have one (l) Free Day in each Monday through Sunday week with the Free Day occurring within ten (10) days of the beginning of such week and not later than the tenth (10th) day following the immediately preceding Free Day.
