Retroactive Seniority definition

Retroactive Seniority means using the Presumptive Hire Date as the Longevity Date for the purposes specified in this Agreement.
Retroactive Seniority refers to seniority credit in the entry-level police officer or ca- det position that a Priority Hire is entitled to receive under this Agreement, which cor- responds to the date a Claimant first took and failed one of the Challenged Written Exams. a. Specifically, Retroactive Seniority applies to a Priority Hire’s seniority for pur- poses of calculating the regular rate of pay (and any other types of pay calcu- lated based on the regular rate), annual leave, accrual of vacation leave after the first year of employment, layoffs/reductions in work force, recall from layoffs/reduction in work force, assignments to specialized units (e.g., Homi- cide), and transfers between precincts. Retroactive Seniority shall be limited to this expressly listed group of benefits. The Parties agree that in considering assignments to specialized units, Retroactive Seniority will be used exactly as seniority is used in this process, pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding Between the Baltimore County Administration and the Fraternal Order of Po- lice, Lodge #4 (“MOU”). As of the date of this Agreement, Section 13.3 of the MOU governs assignments to specialized units (though it refers to these assign- ments as “transfers”) and specifically states that seniority is used only when other specified factors are relatively equal. b. Retroactive Seniority does not refer to seniority used for scheduling the follow- ing: leave, personal time, vacation time or days off from work of any type or nature. c. Retroactive Seniority shall not be used to satisfy any applicable probationary periods or any time-in-grade minimums required to be eligible for promotions, assignments, or transfers.

  • The City shall provide each claimant who receives a Retroactive Seniority Date pursuant to Paragraph 48, supra, with complete pension benefits as though such claimant had been appointed on the retroactive seniority date.

  • A Claimant’s Non-Competitive Retroactive Seniority shall be limited to the purposes of salary, retirement eligibility, and retirement benefits.

  • Claimants who receive retroactive seniority shall receive salary and vacation at the same level as the salary and vacation they would currently be receiving if they had been appointed on their Retroactive Seniority Dates; however, claimants shall not be entitled to any retroactive accruals of vacation or sick leave benefits, including sick leave incentive benefits.

  • The developer must communicate project goals to the team internally for each member to be aware of their requirements (Luke and Hohmann, 2003).All the time frame and schedules with the output as desired must be communicated to the team.

  • Executive session means all or part of a meeting that is closed or confidential.

  • Active Service means a Covered Person is either 1) actively at work performing all regular duties at his or her employer’s place of business or someplace the employer requires him or her to be; 2) employed, but on a scheduled holiday, vacation day, or period of approved paid leave of absence; or 3) if not employed, able to engage in substantially all of the usual activities of a person in good health of like age and sex and not confined in a Hospital or rehabilitation or rest facility.

  • Bargaining Unit Seniority is defined as the length of continuous service within the bargaining unit since the last date of entry into the bargaining unit.

  • Classification Seniority means the length of service in the classification, calculated from the date the employee enters the classification.

  • Enrollee point-of-service cost-sharing or "cost-sharing" means amounts paid to health carriers directly providing services, health care providers, or health care facilities by enrollees and may include copayments, coinsurance, or deductibles.

  • Designated Employees means a person occupying any of the following position in the Company:

  • Date of Service means the date on which the client receives medical services or items, unless otherwise specified in the appropriate provider rules. For items that are mailed or shipped by the provider, the date of service is the date on which the order was received, the date on which the item was fabricated, or the date on which the item was mailed or shipped.

  • Prospective employee means any individual who has committed to become an employee of the Company within sixty (60) days from the date an Award is granted to such individual.

  • Retained Employee does not include any individual who has a direct or an indirect ownership interest of at least five percent (5%) in the profits, equity, capital, or value of the Taxpayer, or a child, grandchild, parent, or spouse, other than a spouse who is legally separated from the individual, of any individual who has direct or indirect ownership interest of at least five percent (5%) of the profits, equity, capital or value of the Company.

  • Seniority Date The date on which a Participant has: (a) Attained age __. (b) Completed __ Years of Service from First Date of Service. (c) Attained age __ and completed __ Years of Service from First Date of Service.

  • Active Employment means you must be actively at work for the Sponsor:

  • Active Employees means all employees employed on the Closing Date by Seller for its business who are employed exclusively in Seller’s business as currently conducted, including employees on temporary leave of absence, including family medical leave, military leave, temporary disability or sick leave, but excluding employees on long-term disability leave.

  • Seniority means length of service with the Employer.

  • Executive Severance Plan means the Company’s Senior Executive Employee Severance Pay Plan, as in effect from time to time.

  • Effective date of enrollment means the first date when an en- rollee is entitled to receive covered benefits.

  • Benefit Commencement Date means, for any Participant or beneficiary, the date as of which the first benefit payment, including a single sum, from the Participant’s Account is due, other than pursuant to a withdrawal under Article VIII.

  • Designated Employee means an employee who has been designated by the school to receive complaints of hazing, harassment and bullying pursuant to subdivision 16 V.S.A. 570a(a)(7). The designated employees for each school building are identified in Appendix A of this policy.

  • Non-Officer Employee means any person who serves or has served as an employee or agent of the Corporation, but who is not or was not a Director or Officer;

  • Active Employee means a contributing member of the TRS who is employed by a public school and is not entitled to coverage under a plan provided under Insurance Code Chapter 1551 (Texas Em- ployees Group Benefits Act) or 1601 (State University Employees Uniform Insurance Benefits Act).

  • Disability Effective Date means the date on which termination of employment becomes effective due to Disability.

  • Number of Employees enter the total number of Employees in the employment category employed to provide services under the Contract during the report period, including part time Employees and Employees of subcontractors.

  • Retained Employees has the meaning set forth in Section 6.1.1.

  • Reduced leave schedule means a leave schedule that reduces the usual number of hours per workweek, or hours per workday, of an employee.

  • Inactive Employee means an employee who is not actively at work due to approved leave of absence, short-term disability leave or military leave.

  • Medically Necessary Leave of Absence means any change in enrollment at the post-secondary school that begins while the child is suffering from a serious illness or injury, is medically necessary, and causes the child to lose student status for purposes of coverage under the Plan.

  • Supervisory employee means an employee, regardless of job description, having authority in the interest of the employer to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees, or the responsibility to assign work to and direct them, or to adjust their grievances, or effectively recommend that action, if, in connection with the foregoing functions, the exercise of that authority is not of a merely routine or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgment.
