OFF FROM WORK. Section and Crown A When an employee Is summoned for jury duty or as a Crown witness in a court of law and must lose time from work as a result of such summons, the employee will pay to the Company any monies received for such jury or duty (not including expense monies) and the employee will receive the pay he would have received had he been working. Such pay shall not exceed 8 straight time hours per day or straight time hours per week. B The employee shall furnish evidence to the Company that he reported for or performed jury duty or appeared as a witness on the days for which he claims payment. C The employee is required to report for work on days or part days when he is not required on duty or as a witness in a of law. Section Leaves of Absence Leaves of absence up to calendar days, without pay and without loss of seniority may be granted (except for gainful employment elsewhere) by the Plant Manager. The conditions of all leaves of absence shall be in writing with copies for the Company and the Union. If an employee violates the conditions of his leave of absence, it may be just cause for discipline up to and including discharge.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK Subject to the trust deed to the fund of which an employee is a member, the following provisions will apply.

  • RECALL FROM LAY-OFF Laid off employees shall be recalled in order of seniority provided they possess the requisite qualifications, skill and ability to perform the work available.

  • WORKING FROM HOME 51.1. Subject to this clause, the Employer may consider the introduction of working from home arrangements. The introduction of working from home arrangements does not provide for the Employee’s primary place of work to be moved from the Employee’s headquarters/work base to the Employee’s home.

  • Recall from Layoff A Nurse on layoff shall be notified of opportunities for recall in the most expeditious manner possible including telephone, fax, and in person. A formal verification in writing will be provided where the initial contact of recall is other than in writing. Nurses are responsible for leaving their current address and telephone number(s) with the Employer.

  • Compensation for Damage or Loss (1) When investments made by investors of either Contracting Party suffer damage or loss owing to war or other armed conflict, a state of national emergency, revolt, civil disturbances, insurrection, riot or other similar events in the territory of the other Contracting Party, they shall be accorded by the latter Contracting Party, treatment, as regards restitution, indemnification, compensation or other settlement, not less favourable than that the latter Contracting Party accords to its own investors or investors of any third state, whichever is the most favourable.

  • Operation Delays STATE shall have the authority to delay or suspend the operations of PURCHASER and contractors of PURCHASER, wholly or in part, under this contract for such period or periods necessary due to fire hazard conditions, severe weather occurrence, surveying for threatened or endangered species listed under the state or federal Endangered Species Act, or any other activity STATE determines to be necessary for identification, management, or protection of a threatened or endangered species. PURCHASER agrees to cooperate with surveying efforts of STATE or its contractors. In no event shall STATE be liable for any costs incurred by PURCHASER by reason of delay or suspension under this section, including but not limited to costs of additional move-in/move-out of equipment and personnel, extra fire and equipment security, and insurance or bonding expenses.
