Additional Work Assignments. Employees who are temporarily not needed to do their usual existing work may be required to perform other work for which they are qualified, with the objective of utilizing all available manpower effectively and economically. When all things are equal (such as, availability, qualifications, continuity) seniority will be the deciding factor for the assignment. Supervision will notify the appropriate Union representative when making assignments.

Additional Work Assignments. Any permanent employee who is regularly assigned to a unit and who is also assigned similar level on an hourly basis during days in unpaid service, shall be compensated at his/her current rate of pay, and shall accrue benefits, including holiday pay, vacation, and sick leave. This section shall also apply for work performed on all non-calendar workdays scheduled in the employee’s regular assignment. This assignment is not intended to increase the number of months of the employee’s assignment.
