APPRENTICE ARTISTS. (a) COMPENSATION
(1) An APPRENTICE ARTIST shall be compensated at the following weekly rates: Summer 2021 Summer 2022 Summer 2023 Summer 2024 Apprentice Artist Weekly* $469 $469 $478 $488 Apprentice Artist Overtime** $19 $19 $19.50 $20 *The Apprentice Artist Weekly rate will be the greater of published rates above or the NYS Minimum Wage multiplied by 37.5 hours **Overtime rates will be the greater of published rates above or 1.5times the NYS Minimum Wage.
(2) APPRENTICE ARTISTS shall not be entitled to per diems and meal allowances set forth in this agreement.
(3) An APPRENTICE ARTIST may be required to perform no more than three (3) times per week as a CHORISTER. He/she shall not be required to rehearse for main stage productions more than thirty seven and a half (37 ½) hours per week, or more than six and one half (6 ½) hours in one day, provided, however, that such APPRENTICE ARTIST shall not rehearse more than a total of seventy-five (75) hours in any two week period. If these limits are exceeded, the APPRENTICE ARTIST shall receive overtime as detailed above in ½ hour increments.
(4) An APPRENTICE ARTIST shall be compensated for all roles pursuant to the terms of Paragraph 26 (a) above. In addition, an APPRENTICE ARTIST shall be guaranteed a minimum in assigned roles for each summer season covered by this agreement at the following rates: In a summer season with two (2) main stage productions: $500.00 In a summer season with three (3) main stage productions: $750.00 In a summer season with four (4) main stage productions: $1000.00
(5) An APPRENTICE ARTIST assigned to perform a Concert with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra shall be compensated a fee equaling one week’s salary, as detailed in Paragraph 31(a)(1), which shall include one concert and the requisite rehearsals for a total of no more than twenty- two (22) hours pertaining thereto. Any hours in excess of 22 will be compensated at the Hourly Concert Overtime Rate payable in half-hour increments. (6) The EMPLOYER shall provide each APPRENTICE ARTIST single occupancy housing with bath and cooking facilities.
(7) The EMPLOYER shall provide Retirement benefits for each APPRENTICE ARTIST according to the terms of Paragraph 16 above.
