Approval of Vacation Requests. The Employer shall notify the employees regarding the approval/disapproval not later than February 15th of each year. Vacation leave approved in accordance with the procedure identified in Section 27.4 will not be cancelled unless an emergency condition exists. Once notification is given, the Employer will post a vacation schedule and any employee wishing to cancel a vacation scheduled pursuant to the procedures in this Article must provide the Employer a minimum of fourteen (14) days advanced notification.

Approval of Vacation Requests. Employees shall submit vacation requests early enough to allow the responsible administrator to schedule vacations and to accommodate employee requests, when possible. Earned vacation may, with the approval of the District, be taken at any time during the fiscal year. Effort will be made to process requests for vacation within five (5) business days.
Approval of Vacation Requests. Vacations approved by the supervisor or manager via the payroll program shall be a firm commitment to the employee. In deciding between various employees’ requests for vacation time when not all requests can be approved, supervisor or manager shall first consider the following variables: 1. First, the impact on TPI of each employee’s absence; 2. Second, the earliest request received by management via the payroll program shall be given priority; 3. Finally, employees with the most seniority shall receive priority. Authorization for vacation time will not be granted more than six (6) months in advance of the vacation date. Once a supervisor or manager has received an electronic vacation request via payroll program, a written or electronic response must be given to the employee within fourteen (14) calendar days of the supervisor’s or manager’s receipt of the request. Employees will not accrue more than the one and a half (1.5) of annual allotment of vacation time. Holiday accrual is not considered as vacation accrual and will not be considered for this limit. Once employee reaches the maximum accrual, further accruals will be halted until the employee uses some of the vacation time. Employees leaving Transition Projects employment will be compensated for accrued and unused vacation time. It is employee’s responsibility to monitor the vacation balance and plan vacation requests in a timely manner.
Approval of Vacation Requests a) Where operational requirements permit, vacation requests for the peak summer period of June 15— September 15 shall be approved on the basis of seniority provided such requests are submitted by April l st . The Supervisor/Director shall respond to such requests no later than April 15th . b) The Supervisor/Director shall respond to all other leave requests within 2 weeks of the request being submitted. c) Leave requests shall not be unreasonably denied. d) Once a leave request has been approved the leave shall not be revoked without the employee's agreement.

  • Vacation Requests Regular employees become eligible for paid vacation leave once they have completed six (6) months of continuous employment. Vacations requests must be submitted by no later than January 31st to be scheduled for the vacation calendar year of April 1 - March 31. Vacation time may be divided into blocks of one to two weeks in duration. Scheduling of vacation shall be in accordance with seniority within a classification. Where an employee chooses to split their vacation, they shall exercise seniority rights in the choice of the first vacation period. Seniority shall prevail in the choice of the second vacation period but only after all other first vacation periods have been selected. Remaining vacation periods will be scheduled in a fair and equitable manner amongst employees within a classification. The approved vacation schedule will be posted at the worksite on or before February 28th in each year. Employees will be limited to booking a maximum of two (2) consecutive weeks of vacation during prime vacation period (June 15 - September 15; and December 15 - January 5), unless further consecutive weeks would not interfere with the vacation preferences of less senior employees. The Employer will make every effort to accommodate requests for vacation of more than two (2) consecutive weeks outside of prime vacation periods. Employees failing to exercise their right to request vacation within the vacation selection time posted by the Employer will forfeit their seniority rights with respect to choice of vacation time. In such cases, the Employer reserves the right to schedule vacation time for the employee. A maximum of two (2) weeks of vacation time may be carried forward from one year to another. Employees who wish to carry vacation forward should notify the Employer by January 31st. If the employee has not requested all of their vacation leave, the Employer reserves the right to schedule the remaining vacation days within the last four (4) months of the calendar year. The Employer may also pay out unused vacation credits at the end of February each calendar year.
