Vacation BalanceIn the event the appointing authority does not provide vacation for an employee sufficient to reduce his/her accumulated vacation balance to the amount permitted (three years' earnings), the employee may take vacation as a matter of right immediately before the end of the pay period in which vacation could be lost, not to exceed one (1) year's earnings. The balance of the employee's accumulated vacation shall remain to his/her credit.
Vacation Balance. If proper notification is given for a resignation or retirement, accrued unused vacation pay will be granted.
Vacation Balance. 11.6.1 Vacation credit shall be calculated on the basis of the school fiscal year, beginning July 1st and ending June 30 of the year following and may be accumulated to a total not exceeding that which the bargaining unit member could earn in twenty-four (24) months. Vacation accrued beyond the two-year maximum will be paid if the following conditions exist. The employee must provide written verification of a denied vacation request. This denied request must reflect that vacation was requested for a time period that would not substantially interfere with the function of the department. 11.6.2 Full credit for vacation leave will be given for the first and last calendar month of service when the bargaining unit member is in paid status for one-half (½) or more the working days of that month. No credit for vacation time will be given when the bargaining unit member is in paid status for less than one-half (½) the working days of that month. 11.6.3 Full annual credit for vacation leave will be advanced on July 1 of each fiscal year. However, if a unit member leaves employment before vacation is earned, adjustments will be made.

No credit for vacation time will be given when the bargaining unit member is in paid status for less than one-half (½) the working days of that month. 11.6.3 Full annual credit for vacation leave will be advanced on July 1 of each fiscal year. However, if a unit member leaves employment before vacation is earned, adjustments will be made in accordance with Education Code Section 88197.

  • Vacation Allowance Employees in permanent positions are entitled to vacation with pay. Accrual is based upon straight time hours of working time per calendar month of service and begins on the date of appointment to a permanent position. Increased accruals begin on the first of the month following the month in which the employee qualifies. Accrual for portions of a month shall be in minimum amounts of one (1) hour calculated on the same basis as for partial month compensation pursuant to Section 5.6 of this MOU. Vacation credits may be taken in one (1) minute increments but may not be taken during the first six (6) months of employment (not necessarily synonymous with probationary status) except where sick leave has been exhausted; and none shall be allowed in excess of actual accrual at the time vacation is taken.

  • Vacation Accumulation (a) Vacations are not cumulative from year to year. (b) Notwithstanding the above, the Employer may grant a special request from an employee to carryover a maximum of five (5) vacation days into the next year.   • Vacation Bank Vacation entitlement is determined by Article 13. For the purposes of Article 13, hours worked or credited as paid leave will be based on an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours credit for each hour worked. Mechanism for the vacation bank is determined by current local practices. Drawing from the vacation bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 paid hours for every hour taken as vacation (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid). Vacation must be taken as a full weekend off (i.e. Saturday and Sunday). The maximum number of weekends off cannot exceed the week entitlement level determined by Article 13. Single vacation days may be taken on weekdays, which need not be in conjunction with the Saturday and Sunday. Vacation – Interruption does not apply.

  • Vacation Accrual ‌ A. During the first three (3) years of employment, a full-time employee in a regular or limited-term position shall earn .0385 hours of vacation for each hour of pay during his or her regularly scheduled workweek (approximately eighty [80] hours per year). Part-time employees will earn vacation on a pro- rated basis. Such credit shall be applied to the employee's vacation accrual account only upon completion of each pay period. B. After an employee in a regular or limited-term position has been paid for six thousand two hundred forty (6240) regularly scheduled hours, the employee shall earn .0577 hours of vacation for each hour of pay during his or her regularly scheduled workweek (approximately one hundred twenty [120] hours per year), but not to exceed credit for more than eighty (80) regularly scheduled hours in any pay period. Such credit shall be applied to the employee's vacation accrual account only upon completion of each pay period. C. Commencing with the pay period following that in which the employee completed ten (10) years of continuous full-time County service (20,800 regularly scheduled hours), an employee in a regular or limited-term position shall earn .077 hours of vacation for each hour of pay during his or her regularly scheduled workweek (approximately one hundred sixty [160] hours per year), under the same terms and conditions as under subsection B., above. D. The maximum allowable vacation credit an employee may accrue at any one (1) time for employees with less than ten (10) years of continuous County service shall be two hundred forty (240) hours. The maximum allowable vacation credit an employee may accrue at any one (1) time for employees with ten (10) or more years of continuous County service (20,800 regularly scheduled hours) shall be three hundred twenty (320) hours. An employee who has accrued the maximum allowable vacation credit will not accrue additional credit until the employee’s vacation credit drops below the maximum allowed.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Vacation Accrual Rates Laid off employees who are re-employed shall have the vacation accrual rate they held immediately prior to layoff restored.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.

  • Vacation Usage Each department or agency head shall be responsible for scheduling the vacation periods of their employees in such a manner as to achieve the most efficient functioning of the department or agency and the County service. The granting of a vacation period less than the employee's annual entitlement is to be discouraged so that the full benefit of the vacation plan can be realized by each employee. The appointing authority shall determine when vacations will be taken.

  • Vacation Credits All employees shall participate in the County’s Terminal Pay Plan (Plan). However, only the terminal paychecks (including unused vacation) of those employees who have reached the age of fifty-five (55) shall be placed into the Plan. These terminal paychecks shall be placed into the Plan on a pre-tax basis in accordance with the Plan, all applicable laws and all rules and regulations applicable to the Plan.

  • Vacation Credit Any outstanding vacation entitlement for a person going on LTD will be paid in cash upon expiry of sick leave. The cash payment will be calculated on the base earnings at the expiration of sick leave for the prorated days of vacation entitlement, any outstanding lieu days, any outstanding floating statutory holidays, and banked time for 40-hour per week employees. No vacation entitlement, floating holidays, or banked time for 40-hour per week employees accrues while a member is in receipt of LTD benefits.
