The Artistic Committee clause establishes a designated group responsible for overseeing and making decisions related to the creative aspects of a project or production. ARTISTIC COMMITTEE. The City and the Union will meet periodically to review plans for the growth and expansion of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra.
ARTISTIC COMMITTEE. The City and the Union will meet periodically to review plans for the growth and expansion of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra through the establishment of an Artistic Committee, made up of non-probationary orchestra members. The Committee’s input may include, but not be limited to the following: a) discuss future repertoire, b) help with seeking soloists and other guest artists, c) help plan for orchestra growth, d) help research industry standard reductions and orchestrations, e) ▇▇▇▇▇▇ goodwill between Ocean City Pops Orchestra management, City of Ocean City, and Friends of the Pops, and f) help with selection of new Artistic Director (when applicable).
ARTISTIC COMMITTEE. (1) The Artistic Committee will address the following matters:
(a) specific programs being planned for the following year;
(b) the general shape of programming for the year following the next year;
(c) the draft roster for the following year during its planning stages;
(d) work flow and scheduling for the current year and following year;
(e) assessment of conductors and soloists;
(f) future bookings and repertoire in relation to conductors and soloists;
(g) artists, repertoire and composers with a view to making recommendations for future programming and commissions;
(h) performance standard.
(2) An election by secret ballot of all permanent musicians will be conducted by the Consultative Committee Executive to elect musician representatives to the Artistic Committee.
(3) The term of each Artistic Committee shall be eighteen months.
(4) The Artistic Committee shall include a maximum of nine permanent musicians of whom:
(a) three will roll-over from the previous term to provide continuity;
(b) three will be elected by the Orchestra to hold office for a period of three years;
(c) three will be the Concertmaster, The President and Secretary of the Players Committee;
(5) A minimum of six Artistic Committee meetings is to be scheduled in the course of any calendar year.
(6) It is agreed that the musicians must feel free to discuss issues with confidentiality, and that the Orchestra must be informed about the Artistic Committee’s activities. A bulletin of outcomes of each meeting will be made available to all musicians in the Orchestra.
ARTISTIC COMMITTEE. The Vice President for Artistic Planning and/or the Director of Artistic Administration shall meet with a committee of three Professional Members designated by AGMA at least twice during each season to discuss future repertoire, opportunities for Chorus activity and other ideas to enhance the profile of the Chorus.

(b) The Artistic Committee shall be responsible for:
1) reviewing the performance standard of the orchestra and ensuring that orchestral standard and discipline are maintained in general terms;
2) discussing programmes, guest conductors and soloists and any appointment or re- appointment of the Artistic Director/Chief Conductor and principal Guest Conductor;
3) consulting with guest conductors and the Artistic Director/Chief Conductor to ascertain their clear indications of the performance standard of the orchestra’s performance;
4) contributing to performance standard assessments of individual musicians as required by the "loss of proficiency" assessment process.
(c) The content of discussions of the Artistic Committee shall be strictly confidential except where further consultation and information of the musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is agreed upon. The Artistic Committee shall keep a brief and confidential record of the results of its discussions. The Artistic Committee shall have the obligation to inform and consult with the Management Committee and the musicians of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra where appropriate on Conductors, Soloists and programme evaluation.
