Assigning of Work on a Holiday. It is agreed that available work on a statutory holiday shall first be assigned to employees normally scheduled to work that day. A full-time employee scheduled to work on the holiday shall not be required to work on the statutory holiday provided they advise the Human Resources Department at least fourteen (14) days in advance of the holiday. If less than fourteen (14) days notice is given the employee must arrange for his or her own replacement. Assigning of Work on a Holiday. It is agreed that available full-time work on a statutory holiday shall first be assigned to full-time employees normally scheduled to work that day. A full-time employee scheduled to work on the holiday shall not be required to work on the statutory holiday provided they advise the Human Resource Scheduler at least five (5) days in advance of the holiday and provided the employee arranges for their own replacement. It is understood and agreed that no overtime costs will thereby be incurred by the Employer. Eligibilityfor Holiday Pay: To be eligible for holiday pay an employee must work their full scheduled shift immediately preceding and full scheduled shift immediately following the holiday unless otherwise mutually agreed. Overtime on a Paid Holiday: Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime on a paid holiday in excess of a full shift as defined by Article they shall receive twice their regular straight-time hourly rate for the time worked in excess of the full shift.

  • Work on a Holiday If an employee works on an approved holiday, in addition to their holiday pay, they will be compensated at the rate of two (2) times their regular hourly rate for all hours worked on the holiday.

  • Payment for Working on a Holiday (The following clause is applicable to part-time employees only) The holidays listed in the part-time local Appendix for the purposes of Article 16.03(b) shall be the same holidays as are listed in the full-time Local Provisions Appendix. If an employee is required to work on any of the holidays set out in the local Appendix the employee shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on such holiday.

  • Compensation for Work on a Holiday (a) Where an Employee is regularly scheduled to work, in accordance with Article 14, and her regularly scheduled day of work falls on a paid holiday, as defined in Article 18.01, she shall receive compensation equal to two and one-half (2 ½) times her regular rate of pay as follows:

  • Working on a Holiday An employee who is required to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of straight time plus time and one-half (1 1/2).

  • Overtime on a Holiday (a) Where an Employee is required to work overtime on a paid holiday, as defined in Article 18.01, she will receive compensation equal to 3.33 times her regular rate as follows:

  • Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime in excess of his regularly scheduled hours on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive twice (2x) his regular straight time hourly rate for such authorized overtime.

  • Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day (December 25) Boxing Day (December 26) In addition to the above noted holidays, full-time employees will be eligible for two (2) floating holidays. The float holiday will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time prior to the end of the calendar year.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.
