Assignment of SROs. The SHERIFF shall promptly notify the principal of the Participating School of the names of those law enforcement officers assigned to provide SRO services at the school. The SHERIFF may change the law enforcement officers assigned to participate as SROs at any time during the term of this Agreement. Unless precluded by law enforcement requirements or emergency circumstances, the SHERIFF shall at all times maintain SROs on duty during those regular school hours in which students are required to be in attendance the number of SROs specified in Section 2.02. However, at the discretion of the SHERIFF, any SRO may be assigned to patrol the neighborhoods surrounding their assigned school to address school security, truancy and juvenile delinquency issues. Each SRO assigned to one or more of the Participating School(s) shall attend any required SRO training programs conducted by SBBC. Whenever possible, the SHERIFF shall assign a replacement law enforcement officer, on a temporary basis, if the SHERIFF approves the absence of an assigned SRO for a period of absence in excess of two (2) days. The SHERIFF shall promptly advise the principal of the Participating School of the name of any replacement SRO assigned to provide services under this Agreement.

Assignment of SROs. SRO positions shall be filled by the providing Agency’s directives and selection process. SROs should have no substantiated evidence of harassment, discrimination, disproportionate minority contact, improper use of force, or other serious performance issues in their work history that would make the officer inappropriate for performing duties as a SRO. In addition, SROs should have positive experience working with youth and/or in a school setting and should be willing and able to serve as mentors for students. WCPSS may provide feedback to the Agency regarding SRO selection. The Agency shall ensure that all SROs participate in an orientation process conducted in collaboration between the Agency and the WCPSS to provide an overview of the School Resource Officer Program and review WCPSS policies and procedures.
Assignment of SROs a) CITY shall always maintain SROs on duty during Summer school hours and in accordance with the number of SROs specified in section 2.02, with the exception of circumstances specified herein. b) “Summer school hours” for purposes of this Agreement begin at least thirty (30) minutes before and end at least thirty (30) minutes after the respective Participating SBBC School’s Summer school xxxx schedule whether or not students are engaged in distance learning. Summer school hours do not include activities occurring after most of the student body is dismissed for the day. c) CITY may change the law enforcement officers assigned to participate as SROs at any time during the term of this Agreement. CITY shall promptly advise the Principal of the Participating SBBC School of the name of any replacement SRO assigned to provide services under this Agreement. d) At any Participating SBBC School where there is more than one (1) SRO, CITY may temporarily reassign an SRO to another Participating SBBC School so long as that SRO spends a majority of time in his or her originally assigned Participating SBBC School. Upon such reassignment, CITY shall immediately notify both Principals of each of the respective Participating SBBC Schools of the temporary reassignment. Additionally, CITY shall not allow the number of SROs to fall below one (1) SRO per Participating SBBC School. Notwithstanding any provision in this Agreement, if CITY is unable to provide at least one (1) SRO per Participating SBBC School, then it shall immediately notify SBBC so that SBBC may timely assign a Safe School Officer; e) Unless precluded by an emergency pertaining to life, health, and safety of individual(s), CITY shall always maintain SROs on duty during Summer school hours, in accordance with the number of SROs specified in section 2.

SROs should not have prior serious performance issues in their work history to include documented evidence of harassment, discrimination, improper use of force, or other serious performance issues in their work history that would make the officer inappropriate for performing duties as a SRO. In addition, SROs should have positive experience working with youth and/or in a school setting and should be willing and able to serve as mentors for students. TCS may provide feedback to TPD regarding SRO selection. TPD shall ensure that all SROs participate in an orientation process conducted in collaboration between TPD and TCS to provide an overview of the School Resource Officer Program and review TCS policies and procedures. TPD, in its sole discretion, shall have the power and authority to hire, discharge and discipline SROs. The school principal and superintendent or designee will be a part of the interview team which will make a recommendation to TPD regarding the appointment of new SROs. Substitute SROs shall be utilized, when possible, for extended leaves or absences. TPD shall hold the TCSBE free, harmless and indemnified from and against and all claims, suits or causes of action arising out of allegations of unfair or unlawful employment practices brought by SROs. Assignment of SROs. The Sheriff shall assign one SRO to Renaissance, which is included in the City’s law enforcement complement. The standards by which the Sheriff provides SROs to the City are set by SBBC/Sheriff Agreement and the Sheriff’s Standard Operating Procedures, applicable SBBC policies and Florida law. a) The SRO assigned to Renaissance is on duty fifteen minutes before and after bell schedule when the school is open for students to be on campus on days in which students are required to be in attendance. The SRO assigned to Renaissance works five eight hours days per week. Any coverage required outside of the eight hour work day will be directly billed to RENAISSANCE by BSO at overtime rates. Additionally, the SRO is required to perform essential daily administrative functions (docking BWC, etc.) which shall not exceed thirty minutes a day. The SRO shall also provide services during official summer school hours. RENAISSANCE shall provide acceptable office space at the school for the SRO. If an SRO is required for hours other than those stated above, during the summer recess, or during days when school is not in session, RENAISSANCE shall coordinate same with the Cooper City District Chief, and RENAISSANCE shall be responsible for any additional costs or overtime incurred.

Assignment of SROs. In consideration of the full and complete payment of the cost of providing the SROs for the assigned time period, the SROs will be assigned to CCSD on a full-time basis and cannot be reassigned when school is in session. The SROs cannot be dispatched away from the property by CCSD or NPD unless a law enforcement emergency arises in the Shiprock Police District from which the SROs operates, and such emergency requires the assistance of the assigned SROs, the SROs will assist in the emergency and will resume CCSD responsibilities as soon as feasible. The express authorization of the Interim Superintendent of Schools or her designee, except in the immediate and exigent performance of the SROs’ law enforcement duties originating on the property of CCSD, must be secured if the assignment is to last more than eight (8) hours.

During teacher planning days, SROs may participate in SBBC approved professional development on or off site. The CITY shall assign a replacement SRO during the time that the assigned SRO is absent. The CITY shall promptly advise the principal of the Participating School of the name of any replacement SRO assigned to provide services under this Agreement.
