Bidding and Job Openings. SECTION 2 - PACKAGE CAR vACANCIES (a) A package car area permanently vacated, or newly established area, excluding those areas established during December, shall be posted within five (5) days for five (5) working days, during which time drivers shall be afforded the opportunity to bid such vacated or new areas. A posted vacancy or new area shall include geographical descriptions, including area boundaries, loop designation and whether the area is a designated training area. The successful bidder shall be awarded the posted vacancy or new area the Monday following the expiration of the five (5) day posting period. If the bid is not awarded as outlined above the case may be referred to the Union and Company Chairpersons of the Western Region Grievance Panel or their designees, who will have the discretion to issue an immediate remedy. A permanent vacancy shall be described as an area that is delivered three (3) days a week for a thirty (30) day period, excluding those extra areas established during peak season. Vacancies created as a result of this bidding procedure shall be posted and bid in accordance with the provisions set forth herein. Within the first fifteen (15) days of accepting a new bid package car area a driver may request, and the Company will print and provide to the driver, either the ORION screenshot, a Telematics screenshot, or any successor technology, of each of the first five (5) days worked on all newly awarded bid package car areas as follows: If the driver makes the request on the actual day of any of the first five (5) days, the Company will provide the ORION screenshot. If the driver makes the request for any of the first five (5) days after the actual day has passed, the Company will provide a copy of the Telematics screenshot for each day requested. When a driver’s area is split to the extent of creating an additional new area, the affected driver shall be allowed to select either of these areas, prior to posting the other area for bid. When a driver’s assigned delivery area is permanently changed by fifty percent (50%) or more of its delivery stops, said driver shall have the right to follow the major portion of the original delivery area. When more than one (1) driver’s delivery area is affected, those affected drivers shall be afforded the opportunity amongst themselves to bid the areas affected in accordance with their seniority.

Bidding and Job Openings. (a) All part-time openings shall be filled following procedures out- lined in Article 6, Section 4 of the Western Region Supplemental United Parcel Service Agreement. (b) Part-time openings then shall be offered to all part-time em- ployees within the jurisdiction of the Local Union and the State boundaries only, prior to hiring from the outside. (c) The jurisdictional area of Local Unions 2 and 190 shall be com- bined. Employees with good work records interested in filling va- cancies in other buildings shall indicate their preference in writing to the Company. It is understood that the provisions described here- in shall apply for only the original opening. The employee awarded the position shall be responsible for any subsequent personal mov- ing expense, if applicable, and shall have their center seniority date placed at the bottom of the center’s part-time seniority list and re- tain their Company seniority for the purpose of fringe benefits only.

  • Skidding and Yarding Methods of skid- ding or yarding specified for particular areas, if any, are indicated on Sale Area Map. Outside Clearcutting Units and construction clearings, insofar as ground conditions permit, products shall not be skidded against reserve trees or groups of reproduction and tractors shall be equipped with a winch to facilitate skidding. B6.421 Rigging. Insofar as practicable, needed rigging shall be slung on stumps or trees desig- nated for cutting.

  • Job Openings The District shall be considered to be engaged in the procedure to fill the position on the posting date of the position(s). Posting shall occur within fifteen (15) working days after Executive Vice Chancellor of Human Resources approval. If the District is unable to post the position within fifteen (15) days or fill the position within the ninety (90) day period, the District will meet and confer with CSEA. Substitute employees may not work more than ninety (90) calendar days in a substitute assignment while the District is engaged in a procedure to fill the vacant permanent position. Should a position be vacated through retirement, resignation or any other reason the District agrees that the position will not be filled by any person(s) for more than one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days excluding temporary upgrades of bargaining unit members. 17.5.1 Unit employees shall be given consideration for reassignment to a higher classification when their training and ability demonstrate that they are qualified for such reassignment. The District will prepare vacancy lists as new openings are announced. Each vacancy shall be assigned a reference number. This reference number shall be used on the Board docket as a method of identifying the position being filled. Vacancy lists will be distributed via e-mail to unit employees, CSEA, posted on designated bulletin boards and the district website. Individual job announcements will be prepared separately and made available to interested employees upon request. 17.5.1.1 Where a pool of qualified applicants for a position existed from a recruitment conducted within the six (6) months preceding the new opening, that pool may be used for the new opening in the same classification. This does not preclude existing unit employees from applying for openings per Article 17.2.2. All new openings shall be internally advertised. 17.5.2 A permanent unit employee who acquires probationary status as the result of job openings or recruitment shall retain permanent status in his former classification until completion of the probationary period in the new classification. In the event that the probationary period in the new classification is not successful, the employee shall revert to his former classification with all the previous rights and privileges. 17.5.3 Unit employee applicants shall be furnished notification of time and date of scheduled interviews a minimum of five (5) days prior to such interviews. 17.5.4 Job openings - Unit employees hired into permanent positions must meet minimum qualifications. 17.5.5 Short-term or substitute employees must meet the minimum qualifications for the classification under which they are employed.

  • Felling and Bucking Felling shall be done to minimize breakage of Included Timber and dam- age to residual timber. Unless agreed otherwise, felling shall be done by saws or shears. Bucking shall be done to permit removal of all minimum pieces set forth in A2. B6.411 Felling in Clearings. Insofar as ground conditions, tree lean, and shape of clearings per- mit, trees shall be felled so that their tops do not extend outside Clearcutting Units, construction clearings, and ar- eas of regeneration cutting. B6.000 Xxxxx Xxxxxxx. Stumps shall not exceed, on the side adjacent to the highest ground, the maximum heights set forth in A6, except that occasional stumps of greater heights are acceptable when Purchaser determines that they are necessary for safe and efficient conduct of logging. Unless otherwise agreed, Purchaser shall re-cut high stumps so they will not exceed heights specified in A6 and shall dispose of severed portions in the same manner as other logging debris. The xxxxx heights shown in A6 were selected with the objective of maximum reasonable utilization of the timber, unless Sale Area Map shows special areas where xxxxx heights are lower for aesthetic, land treatment, or silvicultural rea- sons.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved. b. Consistent with the contractor's work force requirements and as permissible under Federal and State regulations, the contractor shall make full use of training programs, i.e., apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs for the geographical area of contract performance. In the event a special provision for training is provided under this contract, this subparagraph will be superseded as indicated in the special provision. The contracting agency may reserve training positions for persons who receive welfare assistance in accordance with 23 U.S.C. 140(a). c. The contractor will advise employees and applicants for employment of available training programs and entrance requirements for each. d. The contractor will periodically review the training and promotion potential of employees who are minorities and women and will encourage eligible employees to apply for such training and promotion.

  • Training and Professional Development 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University. 11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department. 11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees. 11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instruction. (b) The Employer shall provide sufficient and adequate training and/or orientation to any employee working in a new or unfamiliar work area or position.
