BILINGUALISM. 51.01 The Employer shall notify the employee and/or the Union that a position has been designated bilingual (i.e. present incumbent, vacant position and newly created position) at least one (1) month in advance, for the purpose of review and consultation with the Union.

BILINGUALISM. 19.1 The University is committed to the fulfillment of its role as a bilingual institution of higher learning. The Employer and the Association pledge themselves to the maintenance and promotion of the English and French languages (hereinafter referred to as “official languages”).
BILINGUALISM. 3.50.1 Although Thorneloe is a unilingual Anglophone institution, it is member a of a federation where both official languages are spoken. The University and the Faculty Association recognize the importance of maintaining and promoting both the English and the French languages and cultures. Accordingly, bilingualism among Faculty is desirable.

Employees,other than employees assigned duties of translation and interpretationin theirjob descriptions,who are required by the Employerto use (2) or more of the official languages or official aboriginal languages of the Northwest on a regular basis shall receive a bilingual bonus of one thousand hundred dollars ($1,200.00) per annum, to be paid An employee may be required to provide satisfactoryproof of bilingualism. Eligible casual employees shall receive bilingual at the rate of sixty-twocents ($0.62) per hour for hours worked.
