Bilingual Bonus. A seven percent (7%) bilingual bonus will be paid to those employees who in the performance of their duties are required by the Employer to use the second official language on a regular and consistent basis.
Bilingual Bonus. 52.01 Where an employee is required by the Employer in the day-to-day operations of a position to speak a second language there shall be paid a bilingual bonus of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per annum.
52.02 Bilingual bonus shall be paid to full-time and part-time permanent employees as an hourly allowance, paid on regular hours worked and during periods of annual leave and time-off taken in lieu of pay.
Bilingual Bonus. Whenever an appointing authority determines that it is necessary or desirable that a position be filled by a person able to converse fluently in a language other than English, or write and interpret a language other than English, the appointing authority shall transmit to the Controller a written authorization approving payment of a bilingual premium, as provided by this Article to the person occupying such a position and possessing such bilingual skills. After authorizing payment of a bilingual premium, the appointing authority shall certify to the Controller the name of an employee eligible for a bilingual premium and the Personnel Department shall certify to the Controller that the employee has qualified under its standards of fluency and proficiency for said language. Persons certified as being qualified by the Personnel Department shall receive a bilingual bonus of $100.00 per biweekly pay period for duties requiring conversing fluently in a language other than English, or $200.00 per biweekly pay period for duties requiring conversing fluently and interpreting a language other than English. The bilingual premium payment is pensionable when regularly assigned. For newly hired employees or employees newly appointed to a bilingual position, the premium shall be paid at the beginning of the first full biweekly pay period once the employee has been certified by the Personnel Department.
Bilingual Bonus. An employee shall receive a bilingual bonus of four (4) percent per month providing the position requires, on a frequent and continuing basis, fluency in speaking, reading or writing in a language other than English, and the position is designated a bilingual position by the Human Resources Department. Employees may apply in writing to the Human Resources Department, with a copy to the employee’s supervisor, requesting a bilingual designation. Detailed justification supporting the request must be included.
Bilingual Bonus. Employees, other than employees assigned duties of translation and interpretation in their job descriptions, who are required by the Employer to use two (2) or more of the official languages of Nunavut shall receive a bilingual bonus of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per annum. To qualify an employee has to demonstrate proficiency in the required languages.
Bilingual Bonus. 17.01 Where the Employer designates in writing that an employee is required during the course of his/her employment, to use two (2) or more of the official languages in Nunavut, that employee shall be paid a bilingual bonus of one thousand, five hundred dollars ($1,500) per annum.
Bilingual Bonus. Pursuant to the discretion of the Police Chief, a bonus of $100 per month will be paid to qualified employees desiring to translate/speak a second language. Payment of the bonus will be subject to the following criteria:
G.8.a. Individuals desiring to receive the bonus must have their proficiency in the second language evaluated in a method to be mutually agreed upon between the City and BPOA. Employees in uniform patrol may be required to select their shifts in such a manner to allow utilization of their expertise on all shifts. Such shift selection shall be made on the basis of seniority. There will be no cap on the number of personnel that are eligible for the bilingual bonus.
Bilingual Bonus. 51.01 Where an employee is required by the Employer in the day-to-day operations of a position to speak a second language there shall be paid a bilingual bonus of One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) per annum upon demonstrated proficiency. Such proficiency will be based upon reading, writing and speaking at a “B” level. Some positions may be required to be proficient at a “C” level. Employees hired before April 1, 2006 and who currently receive the bilingual bonus will be deemed to be proficient for the purposes of article 51.01.
51.02 Bilingual bonus shall be paid to employees entitled under Article 51.01, as an hourly allowance paid on regular hours worked, designated paid holidays and during periods of leave with pay.
Bilingual Bonus. Any employee who in the course of his or her duties, are called upon to speak a second language. This language shall not be construed as to modify existing description of duties for those affected classifications. A bilingual bonus will be paid to qualified employees who are assigned to speak a second language. Such assignment shall not be arbitrary and capricious. Employees desiring to receive the bonus must have their proficiency in a second language evaluated through the standard method already mutually agreed upon between the City and IBEW.

For newly hired employees or employees newly appointed to a bilingual position, the premium shall be paid at the beginning of the first full biweekly pay period once the employee has been certified by the Personnel Department.
