Breaks and Rest Pauses. 6.4.1 Rest breaks between rostered work An employee will be allowed a rest break of not less than 10 hours between the completion of one ordinary work period or shift and the commencement of another ordinary work period or shift. This Agreement allows for the rest break between rostered work to be reduced from 10 hours to not less than 8 hours in the following circumstances: - To perform changes of duty rosters; - In any other case agreed upon by the employee and UCH. Where agreement has been reached between UCH and the employee to reduce the 10 hour rest break between rostered work to an 8 hour rest break, due consideration will be given to recognise that fatigue prevention must be, at all times, paramount to ensure that standards of care are not reduced.

Breaks and Rest Pauses. 30.1. Breaks and rest pauses will be taken in accordance with the relevant Award.
Breaks and Rest Pauses. Breaks and Rest Pauses shall be applied as per the provisions of the Relevant Parent Awards. All Casual employees working four hours or more shall be entitled to Award Breaks and Rest pauses. Where the majority of employees in a work group and management agree to do so, the morning and afternoon tea breaks may be combined, such that the afternoon break is forgone, and a single morning break of fifteen (15) minutes is taken, with the finishing time for the work day able to be brought forward by five (5) minutes. This will not apply where employees’ hours of work are arranged in accordance with other provisions contained in any part of this agreement.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Pauses There will be a meal break and a rest pause for each shift or day where a minimum of eight hours are worked are worked Monday to Friday. The meal break shall be thirty minutes duration and will be unpaid. The rest pause will be twenty minutes duration and paid. An employee required to work overtime on a Saturday, Sunday or rostered day off shall be allowed a 20 minute paid crib break after each five hours worked if the work is scheduled to continue after the break. Payment for the crib break shall be at the prevailing overtime rate. A second meal break of 20 minutes shall be due if working 8 hours or more, and paid at the prevailing overtime rate. Subsequent paid meal breaks are due every 4 hours The times of taking the breaks will be as agreed between the employer and majority of employees affected.

  • Meal Breaks and Rest Periods 7.1 Except when required for urgent or emergency work and except as provided in 7.2 below, no employee shall be required to work for more than five hours continuously without being entitled to a meal break of not less than half an hour. There will be only one meal break of not less than half an hour during a 10 hour shift.

  • Rest Pauses Every employee shall be entitled to a rest pause of 10 minutes duration in the employer's time in the 1st and 2nd half of the employee's daily work. Such rest pauses shall be taken at such times as will not interfere with the continuity of work where continuity is necessary. Provided that at management's discretion, the employer may combine the period of the 2 rest pauses to provide one 20 minute rest pause in each ordinary working day.

  • Meal and Rest Periods For assignments where the employee is unable to leave for a thirty (30) minute meal period (i.e., live-in, shift or respite) the meal period shall be paid as time worked. For assignments where the employee is able to leave for a thirty (30) minute meal period (i.e., hourly), the meal period shall be unpaid. Except for emergencies, employees will be completely relieved from duty during the unpaid meal period. Fifteen (15) minute paid rest periods will be provided approximately midway through each four (4) hour segment of each shift. Employees will not be required to work longer than three (3) hours without a rest period, except in emergencies.

  • Lunch and Rest Periods A. Each employee working more than four (4) hours per day shall be entitled to a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour duty free lunch period without pay.

  • Meal and Rest Breaks (a) The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to organize the work assignment on a shift in such a way as to allow each Nurse to have designated meal and rest break(s) at regular intervals during the shifts.
