Calculation of Severance. The method of calculation shall be the per diem rate of the member’s teaching salary, which is comprised of the member’s base salary plus the salary payment for earned graduate hours noted in Appendix D: Supplemental Schedule, in the year of severance.

Calculation of Severance. Salary on which severance pay is calculated shall be based on the rate of pay on the last day worked multiplied by the number of hours the employee would normally work. An employee who is laid off as a result of declining enrolment shall receive severance pay as outlined. The employee may elect to receive severance pay at any time during ‘the first days following notification of termination/lay-off. An employee whose employment is terminated or who is laid off may, instead of receiving severance pay, elect to have his/her name placed on a recall list for a period of up to (one) 1 year. An employee who has received severance pay and who is subsequently rehired by the Board, shall retain any payment made but the calculation for future years of service shall commence with the date of rehiring. An employee who accepts severance pay shall have no further right to or recall to employment. The employee retains the right of refusing a job outside his normal sphere of work without losing the right to severance pay. The employee shall be placed on the recall list and if, after one year on the recall list, work within the sphere is not available, the employee shall be paid severance. The employee must accept a job within his normal sphere of work by either exercising his bumping right or returning from the recall list. If an employee does not accept an available job within his normal sphere of work then he will not be considered eligible for either severance pay or the recall list. Normal sphere of work shall be considered as clerical, trades, caretakers, cafeteria employees, etc. Should an employee accept a position either from the recall list or by exercising his right to bump and not prove satisfactory, the employee must either accept xxxxxxxxx or place his name on the recall list on the understanding that should the employee accept another job and not prove satisfactory, the employee will be required to accept severance. It is not the intent of the above clauses that regular IO-month employees will be entitled to receive severance pay as a result of normal school closures. Severance pay will not apply to casual employees employed for a temporary period.

If the assignment is split equally between more than one department, program or service area, then the President/designee will designate that one in which all seniority will be credited prior to the issuance of the subsequent seniority roster. If two (2) or more ASF Members have equal seniority, then those with greater length of service in permanent status shall have priority for retention. Should ASF Members still be equal in seniority, then the decision of which person to retain will be made on the basis of ASF Member competence and programmatic needs of the university as determined by the President. A seniority roster shall be posed by the President or his/her designee on or before November 1 of each year, and a copy of such rosters shall be furnished to the Campus Association President. Grievances concerning the accuracy of the roster must be filed within thirty (30) calendar days of publication of the roster and must be limited to changes made and shown on the most recent roster. ASF Members on leave status at the time of posting of the seniority roster shall have thirty (30) calendar days after the end of such leave within which to file a grievance. The format of the seniority roster shall be the same for each university. The rosters shall contain all relevant information necessary to implement this Article, including a notification of any department, program or service area in which the ASF Member has served at least thirty-six (36) FTE months.

  • Determination of Service for Sick Leave with Pay Actual time worked and all leave with pay, except for educational leave, shall be included in determining the pro rata accrual of sick leave credits each month, provided that the employee works thirty-two (32) hours or more in that month.

  • COMPUTATION OF BENEFITS All hours paid to an employee shall be considered as hours worked for the purpose of computing any of the benefits under this Agreement.

  • Computation of Seniority For the purpose of calculating the length of service of a regular full- time employee, one year will be credited for each year of service beginning on the employee’s initial date of hire as a regular full-time employee. For the purpose of calculating length of service of a regular part- time employee, one year of service will be credited for every 2080 hours of paid work and paid leave. In the event a regular part-time employee is appointed to a position as a regular full-time employee, the seniority accrued as a part-time employee will be added to the seniority as a full-time employee.

  • Termination of Service Termination of Service shall mean the Executive's voluntary resignation of service by the Executive or the Bank's discharge of the Executive without cause, prior to the Early Retirement Date (Subparagraph I [K]).
