Calling in Sick. Most unscheduled absences are a result of employees calling in sick. There are two ways in which this can become a problem: Patterns of sick time use that suggest abuse; and excessive amounts of sick time use.
Calling in Sick. Cafeteria Managers who are going to be absent from work must call the DISTRICT’s food service number in accordance with the call- in procedure in the Cafeteria Employee Handbook.
Calling in Sick. Employees shall give as much notice as possible when calling in sick to those persons responsible for their scheduling. Where possible the employees will make best efforts to give a minimum of two (2) hours prior to the start of their scheduled tour of duty, except those employees covered under the Office Division; they shall call in no later than the start of their tour of duty.
Calling in Sick i. If a Driver/Aide is not able to work due to illness or other unforeseen emergency, the Driver/Aide must speak with an on-duty Dispatcher, Operation Manager, or Transportation Director between 5:00 a.m. and no later than thirty (30) minutes prior to their route leave time. If the Driver’s/Aide’s phone call is not answered, the Driver/Aide must call again within the required time window or send an email.
Calling in Sick. When unable to report to work, a Flight Attendant must contact the Scheduling Department as soon as she/he becomes aware that she/he is unfit for duty on a Scheduled Duty Day or on a Scheduled Day Off on which she/he is on call-out assignment. At the time that the Flight Attendant calls in sick she/he will specify the number of days she/he wishes to be taken off duty and placed on sick leave. During the requested sick leave period, the Flight Attendant will notify the Scheduling Department of any extension or reduction of the requested sick leave period and provide a new anticipated date of return to duty. If the Company contacts a Flight Attendant while she/he is serving Reserve duty and the Flight Attendant states she/he cannot report due to illness, Injury, etc., the Flight Attendant’s status will be considered a “failed trip” and the Flight Attendant will not receive sick leave pay for that day.
Calling in Sick. Employees shall give as much notice as possible when calling in sick to those CFTO-TV CTV SPECIALTY 51 persons responsible for their scheduling, with a minimum of one hour prior to the start of their scheduled tour of duty, except those employees covered under the Office Division; they shall call in no later than the start of their tour of duty.
Calling in Sick. You don’t have to call the restaurant twenty times because nobody is picking up the phone. A record of you trying to contact the store on your mobile phone is enough to show that you attempted to notify the store. Sending a text message to the manager running the shift, or to your restaurant manager will also create a record to show that you notified your employer that you could not attend a shift.
Calling in Sick. First shift supervisors must call in sick by two (2) hours prior to their 24 absence. All other supervisors must call in sick at least one (1) hour and thirty minutes 25 (90 minutes) prior to the scheduled start time of their shift. Supervisors must call in each 26 day of an absence within the timelines described in order to receive Sick Leave pay 27 unless on pre-approved leave of absence. 29 Pre-arranged Medical and Dental appointments – Employees must provide a 30 minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice to your immediate supervisor (excluding 31 holidays and weekends). Employees may use accumulated sick leave for prearranged 32 doctor and dental appointments with forty-eight (48) hours’ notice to their immediate 33 supervisor and proof of visit upon their return to work. Absences due to doctor’s 34 appointments of four (4) hours or less shall not count as an occurrence. 35 36 Documentation – Employees must provide acceptable documentation (as stated in 37 24.3) to your immediate supervisor within three (3) days after returning from any type of 38 leave.
