Capital Development Sample Clauses

Capital Development. The agreement to lease Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Street to establish a City of Dublin College of FET presents a significant opportunity for CDETB. As well as the potential around consolidating learner and organisational support services and integrating provision under the FET College of the Future model, it makes a clear national statement for FET to have a high profile, a highly visible facility just off the capital’s main street. SOLAS will work with CDETB to ensure that the College can be effectively established and grown to its full potential. The development of an estate's strategy is very important for CDETB, and the ETB should consider, as part of a review, divestment of some of the large stock of older buildings and the potential use of leased facilities as part of agile skills responses. The sale of land and buildings to finance key FET capital developments by CDETB should be explored, with the consolidation of provision around the city a key starting point. SOLAS will continue to review capital processes to try to ensure efficient decision-making and that expenditure thresholds reflect market conditions. The learner voice is hugely important to CDETB. Around 3,000 learners engage annually to provide feedback and input in some way, with a strong focus on actions linked to this feedback. There are formal student representative bodies in place in some of the colleges of further education, and CDETB will examine whether a FET wide representative structure could be explored over the course of this agreement. The ETB is committed to expanding and strengthening the Learner Voice across the ETB and will continue to work with Xxxxxx to ensure the CDETB learner voice feeds into the work of the National FET Learner Forum. It also provides training to learners to allow them to maximise their contribution to ETB boards and committees and CDETB will continue to ramp-up this involvement. This performance agreement will be used as a central and ongoing reference point for key staff across the ETB. Progress against it will be regularly tracked at management meetings and via the CDETB Board. The concerning trends across the range of FET indicators, however, also necessitates immediate short-term attention on why City of Dublin is so far behind the sector trends in some areas, and what can be done to address this as soon as possible. CDETB will work to agree an immediate action plan with SOLAS to address the significant falls in FET progression, certification, lifelong learnin...

Capital Development. LMETB will continue its programme of investment in FET capital infrastructure in line with its ambition for the future and the national Future FET agenda. All of this should be brought together in a formal estates strategy which will frame the development of the pipeline of projects for LMETB. It will continue to fully expend the annual devolved capital budget and bring forward projects that can meet regional and national social and economic needs. As referenced in this agreement plans by LMETB include a key number of capital infrastructure projects, incorporating priorities to establish new FET Colleges in key towns and areas, Navan, Drogheda and Dunboyne. These plans are central to their overall integration and consolidation goal which include expansion of Level 5 and 6 provision and apprenticeship. This includes developing further FET provision in Drogheda, the full development of AMTCE in Dundalk and the building of a new college in Dunboyne. The heavy reliance on leased sites for FET has been noted and, while it does often support more agile responses to emerging skills needs LMETB should also explore whether its consolidation of provision can help to reduce the overall level of dependence. SOLAS will continue to develop capital processes to ensure application of the public spending code along with a clear process for capital funding streams and application and approval processes to support LMETB in this regard.
Capital Development. The vision for the KCETB estates strategy includes a proposed plan to establish a dedicated FET college of the future campus in the center of Kilkenny. This will provide an opportunity to consolidate provision, integrate Further Education and Training, as well as meet the needs of the region with a dedicated training facility. The development of the estates’ strategy will be central to a pipeline of projects for KCETB, coupled with the requirement to fully expend the annual devolved capital budget. Although the reliance on leased buildings in KCETB is lower than the national average, the ETB should consider how it can reduce its reliance on leasing agreements over time. SOLAS will continue to develop capital processes to ensure application of the public spending code along with a clear process for capital funding streams and application and approval processes to support KCETB in this regard. The potential to further develop the FET College of the Future model in the state of the art Carlow Institute will be a priority for KCETB in this period. This provides the <.. image(A picture containing text, sky, outdoor, building Description automatically generated) removed ..> capital infrastructure for the establishment of a College of FET that supports the key principles of the FET college as outlined in the FET Strategy. KCETB plans to identify as a single brand across provision would further support this approach.
Capital Development. The development of premises and facilities is the responsibility of both the Council and Connexions. This development will be in terms of upgrading the quality of existing premises where youth work is carried out. It will also seek to address deficiencies in provision by building, leasing or renting premises for youth work in areas where no such service currently exists. Such developments will not exceed the revenue budgets determined in the annual grant for any given year unless agreed beforehand with the Partnership Manager.
