COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND TRAINING. The joint University/Union Committee comprised of two (2) CUPE representatives and two (2) management representatives will meet at the call of either party to coordinate staff development initiatives at the University. a) It is mutually agreed training on all new equipment and procedures will be provided by the University to persons directly involved and using equipment and procedures.

COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND TRAINING. (a) The provisions of this article are intended to assist employees in maintaining and improving skills and/or to assist in preparing them for foreseeable jobs. (b) Both parties recognize that improved equipment, methods and procedures create changes in the job structure of the Retail Stores and Warehouse Component. The parties also recognize the need to provide employees with the opportunity for career development by enabling them to prepare for promotional advancement and generally upgrade their present skills. (1) The parties shall establish a joint committee on Education and Training comprising of three representatives of the Union and three representatives of the Employer for the purpose of recommending the establishment of guidelines relating to Education and Training programs and Education Leave and Allowances. These guidelines shall be posted in each retail store and warehouse. (2) The meetings of the committee shall be chaired by an employer member and a union member alternately and all members, including the one acting as chairperson, shall have equal voting rights. (3) Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the terms of the joint committee shall include: (i) investigating and recommending eligibility requirements and selection procedures for such programs; (ii) recommending implementation dates for such training based upon availability of funding, training staff, and material; (iii) recommending a system that where an employee fails to pass Liquor Distribution Branch required examinations for the purpose of upgrading or promotion, that employee shall be given the opportunity to be advised in order to be aware of those areas where improvements can be made. (4) The joint committee has the right to establish subcommittees. (5) The meetings shall be held at mutually agreed times. However, the joint committee shall meet no less than twice yearly.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.

  • Outreach and Education The agencies agree to coordinate, conduct joint outreach presentations, and prepare and distribute publications, when appropriate, for the regulated community of common concern. • The agencies agree to work with each other to provide a side-by-side comparison of laws with overlapping provisions and jurisdiction. • The agencies agree to provide a hyperlink on each agency’s website linking users directly to the outreach materials in areas of mutual jurisdiction and concern. • The agencies agree to jointly disseminate outreach materials to the regulated community, when appropriate. • All materials bearing the DOL or DOL/WHD name, logo, or seal must be approved in advance by DOL. • All materials bearing the OEAS name, logo, or seal must be approved in advance by OEAS.

  • Professional Development and Training The Company shall pay for or reimburse the Executive for any reasonable professional development or training.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • General Education Requirements Students who intend to transfer to SUNY Buffalo State College with an A.A. or A.S. degree, will be considered as having fulfilled general education/Intellectual Foundations as long as they complete the 30 credits and 7 of 10 areas of SUNY-GER requirements prior to the start of their studies at SUNY Buffalo State College. Students should have successfully completed the SUNY-GER Basic Communication requirement with a grade of “C” or better, the mathematics requirement, and 5 of the remaining 8 categories. The student is responsible for fulfilling the SUNY Buffalo State College Diversity requirement.

  • Education Reimbursement The County will provide education reimbursement for education costs incurred by regular employees who apply for such reimbursement in accordance with the policies and procedures governing the education reimbursement program. The maximum reimbursement shall be $1,500 per year.
