Communicators. (a) The normal hours of work for each Communicator shall be a tour of either eight (8) or ten (10) consecutive hours per day for a total of forty (40) hours per week.
Communicators. C.1 The hours that Communicators shall be required to work shall not exceed forty- two (42) hours per week on the average, and shall be performed in accordance with the following repeating Schedule, unless otherwise scheduled by the Fire Chief for training purposes, with prior notice to the Association: A day shift of twelve (12) hours per day for four (4) consecutive days followed by four (4) consecutive days off duty, followed by a night shift of twelve (12) hours per night for four (4) consecutive nights followed by four (4) consecutive nights off duty. Communicators (Relief) shall be used as replacement for Communicators absent for vacation, statutory holidays, sickness or any other reason. Communicators (Relief) may have their shift changed at any time. In the event that an Communicators (Relief) is required to change shifts after their regularly scheduled shift begins, he/she will be paid either for all hours worked prior to notification of shift change at a rate of time and one half (1 ½) his/her regular hourly rate, or for a minimum of two (2) hours at time and one half (1 ½) his/her regular rate, whichever is greater.
