Conferences, Seminars and Educational Programs. Employees will be granted time away from their work at their regular rate of pay when directed by their affected department head to attend conferences, seminars or educational programs which are intended to improve and upgrade the employee’s skill or professional ability. All such educational leaves must be approved by the employee’s department head. Travel hours outside normal working hours will not be paid except to the extent required by the FLSA or Oregon law. The employee will be considered as being on County business for liability and Workers’ Compensation purposes. Whenever a conference, seminar or educational program is broken by a weekend and is being held within a four (4) hour travel radius of Astoria by automobile, travel expenses shall be provided to the employee for return to his home and back during the weekend break.

Conferences, Seminars and Educational Programs. Employees will be granted time away from their work at their regular rate of pay when directed by their Division Head, Sheriff or supervisor to attend professional/program meetings and conferences, seminars, or educational programs which are intended to improve and upgrade the employee's skill or professional ability. The Division Head, Sheriff or supervisor must approve all such educational leaves. Travel time/training time outside normal working hours of an employee will be considered as being on County or Sheriff’s business for liability and Workers’ Compensation purposes regardless of whether the time is compensable under this contract or as required by law. Training and travel time shall be deemed hours worked and paid in accordance with the travel time rules of the FLSA. The County will not provide any automobile insurance for employees using their personal vehicles for County/Sheriff’s Office purposes. The County/Sheriff’s Office will make a reasonable attempt to assign a vehicle when travel to a conference, seminar, or educational program within Oregon is required. Whenever a conference, seminar, or educational program is broken by a weekend and is being held within a four-hour travel radius of Astoria via automobile, travel expenses shall be provided to the employee for return home and back during the weekend break. An employee may request time off duty, a leave of absence without pay, vacation, or the ability to attend a training opportunity on a voluntary basis and the Sheriff may authorize voluntary attendance at a training opportunity without loss of pay, and with partial or full reimbursements in any category of expenses associated with the employee’s attendance at a particular training which is voluntarily requested and granted on the basis of the Sheriff’s authorizations.

  • Educational Program A. DSST PUBLIC SCHOOLS shall implement and maintain the following characteristics of its educational program in addition to those identified in the Network Contract at DSST XXXX MIDDLE SCHOOL (“the School” within Exhibit A-3). These characteristics are subject to modification with the District’s written approval:

  • Conferences and Meetings Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate copies of minutes thereof.

  • Conferences At the request of the State or the Engineer, conferences shall be provided at the Engineer's office, the office of the State, or at other locations designated by the State. These conferences shall also include evaluation of the Engineer's services and work when requested by the State.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Meetings and Conferences ‌ From time to time the Government may require attendance at Government conferences and meetings at no additional cost to the Government.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Schools The Project must apply for concurrency review at Lake County Public Schools. The school district has a specific application process. The Project must be shown to have appropriate school concurrency before building permits are issued.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.
