Crossing of Picket Lines During Strikes. Employees shall not be required to cross any picket line legally established and maintained under the Statutes of British Columbia. The Union agrees to seriously attempt to get permits from the picketing Union to allow School Board Employees to carry out normal functions.

Crossing of Picket Lines During Strikes a) The Board shall not request, require or direct employees within this bargaining unit to perform work resulting from legal strikes nor shall the employee be required to cross any bona fide trade union's picket lines legally established by the Statutes of British Columbia. b) Failure to cross such a picket line or handle goods from an employer where a strike or lockout is in effect by a member of this Union shall not be considered a violation of this Agreement, nor shall it be grounds for disciplinary action other than loss of pay. There shall be loss of benefits if the period involved exceeds one (1) month. c) Both parties agree to attempt to obtain a permit from the striking union for permission to provide emergency services where and when required. d) The union and employer will jointly designate an employee or employees to provide emergency services to facilities or property during any job action. The salary for the work performed by these employees will be paid directly to the Local.
Crossing of Picket Lines During Strikes. An employee covered by this Agreement shall have the right to refuse to cross a picket line or to handle goods from an Employer where a strike or lockout is in effect. It is acknowledged that it is the Union’s responsibility to determine the legality of the picket line or of the dispute that results in an employee covered by this Collective Agreement not handling goods of that struck Employer, and where it is determined that the picket line or strike is illegal, the Union agrees that it will do its utmost in persuading the striking Union to allow the employees covered by this Collective Agreement to cross said picket line or to handle struck and/or lockout goods. HOWEVER, if such agreement cannot be reached, it is agreed that failure to cross such a picket line or handle goods from an Employer where a strike or lockout is in effect by a member of this Union, shall not be considered a violation of this Agreement nor shall it be grounds for disciplinary action other than loss of pay for the period involved.

  • Services During Certain Events In the event a third person begins a tender or exchange offer, circulates a proxy to stockholders, or takes other steps to effect a Change in Control, Executive agrees that he will not voluntarily terminate employment with Kaydon (or the Subsidiary then employing Executive) on less than three months written notice to the Chief Executive Officer of Kaydon, will render the services expected of his position, and will act in all things related to the interests of the stockholders of Kaydon until the third person has abandoned or terminated the efforts to effect a Change in Control or until a Change in Control has occurred.

  • Delays during construction Without prejudice to the provisions of Clause 10.3 (ii), in the event the Contractor does not achieve any of the Project Milestones or the Authority’s Engineer shall have reasonably determined that the rate of progress of Works is such that Completion of the Project Highway is not likely to be achieved by the end of the Scheduled Completion Date, it shall notify the same to the Contractor, and the Contractor shall, within 15 (fifteen) days of such notice, by a communication inform the Authority’s Engineer in reasonable detail about the steps it proposes to take to expedite progress and the period within which it shall achieve the Project Completion Date.

  • Lost Keys, Lock Outs The Resident will be responsible for the cost of replacing lost keys (e.g., room key, mailbox key, etc.) at a cost determined by the Manager, to a maximum of $20.00 per key. If the Resident is locked out of the Resident’s Room, the Resident will pay a fee for letting the Resident into the Room, to a maximum of $5.00, or will be provided with a temporary key to be returned immediately after use. Failure to return a temporary card in the time allotted will result in a replacement fee to a maximum of $20.00.

  • NYISO and Connecting Transmission Owner Obligations Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO shall cause the New York State Transmission System and the Connecting Transmission Owner’s Attachment Facilities to be operated, maintained and controlled in a safe and reliable manner in accordance with this Agreement and the NYISO Tariffs. Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO may provide operating instructions to Developer consistent with this Agreement, NYISO procedures and Connecting Transmission Owner’s operating protocols and procedures as they may change from time to time. Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO will consider changes to their respective operating protocols and procedures proposed by Developer.

  • Maintenance during Construction Period (i) During the Construction Period, the Contractor shall maintain, at its cost, the existing lane(s) of the Project Highway so that the traffic worthiness and safety thereof are at no time materially inferior as compared to their condition on Appointed Date, and shall undertake the necessary repair and maintenance works for this purpose; provided that the Contractor may, at its cost, interrupt and divert the flow of traffic if such interruption and diversion is necessary for the efficient progress of Works and conforms to Good Industry Practice; provided further that such interruption and diversion shall be undertaken by the Contractor only with the prior written approval of the Authority’s Engineer which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. For the avoidance of doubt, it is agreed that the Contractor shall at all times be responsible for ensuring safe operation of the Project Highway. It is further agreed that in the event the Project includes construction of a bypass or tunnel and realignment of the existing carriageway, the Contractor shall maintain the existing highway in such sections until the new Works are open to traffic. (ii) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Agreement, in the event of default by the Contractor in discharging the obligations specified in Clause 10.4 (i) above, the Authority shall get these maintenance works completed in the manner recommended by the Authority’s Engineer to avoid public inconvenience at the risk and cost of the Contractor in order to keep the road in traffic worthy condition.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours Solicitation of Union membership or collection or checking of dues will not be conducted during working time. The Company agrees not to discriminate in any way against any employee for Union activity, but such activity shall not be carried on during working time, except as specifically allowed by the provisions of this Agreement.

  • Communication during parental leave (a) Where an employee is on parental leave and a definite decision has been made to introduce significant change at the workplace, the employer shall take reasonable steps to: (i) make information available in relation to any significant effect the change will have on the status or responsibility level of the position the employee held before commencing parental leave; and (ii) provide an opportunity for the employee to discuss any significant effect the change will have on the status or responsibility level of the position the employee held before commencing parental leave. (b) The employee shall take reasonable steps to inform the employer about any significant matter that will affect the employee’s decision regarding the duration of parental leave to be taken, whether the employee intends to return to work and whether the employee intends to request to return to work on a part-time basis. (c) The employee shall also notify the employer of changes of address or other contact details which might affect the employer’s capacity to comply with (a) above.

  • Employee Leaving During Notice An employee whose employment is to be terminated for reasons set out in this clause may terminate employment during the period of notice and, if so, shall be entitled to the same benefits and payments under this clause had the employee remained with the employer until the expiry of such notice. This is with the provision that in such circumstances the employee shall not be entitled to payment instead of notice.

  • Competitive Supplier’s Standard Credit Policy The Competitive Supplier will not require a credit review for any consumer participating in the Program, nor does Competitive Supplier require any consumer to post any security deposit as a condition for participation in the Program. The Competitive Supplier may terminate service to a Participating Consumer and return such consumer to Basic Service in the event that the consumer fails to pay to Competitive Supplier amounts past-due greater than sixty (60) days.
