DEATH IN THE IMMEDIATE. FAMILY (An allowance of up to five (5) consecutive working days or seven (7) consecutive calendar days, whichever is less, shall be granted): Immediate family shall include: husband, wife, mother, father, mother- in-law, father-in-law, child, sister, brother, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, stepmother or stepfather, son-in-law or daughter-in-law or anyone making his or her home with the family or anyone who actually stands in the position of a member of the immediate family to the employee. An allowance of 1 day shall be granted for the death of an aunt, uncle, sister-in- law, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew. Additional time beyond the five (5) days may be applied against any unused personal leave from the three-(3) days of personal leave allowed under Paragraph J.2. below.

DEATH IN THE IMMEDIATE. Family In case of a death in the immediate family, the employee shall be entitled to a maximum of four (4) consecutive paid days absence without loss of pay, provided that no more than two (2) unpaid days intervene, and provided that one of these four days includes the day of the death or day of the funeral. The immediate family is defined as spouse, parent, brother, sister, child, grandparents, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, domestic partner or any member of the family living in the same house. The employee shall also be entitled to one (1) day per school year for a death in their extended family.

  • Death in the Immediate Family The teacher may take a maximum of five (5) sick days per death at the time of the death. Immediate family shall be interpreted as mother, father, husband, wife, grandparents, grandchild, child, sister, and brother of teacher and/or his/her spouse. One (1) of these days must be the funeral day.

  • Death in the Family The Administrator shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) days at any one time in the event of an administrator’s son-in-law, daughter-in-law, father-in- law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, or grandparents death, and up to five (5) consecutive days leave in the event of the death of an administrator’s spouse, child, brother, sister, or parent.

  • Illness in the Immediate Family ‌ An employee may use up to one-half of his or her annual sick leave allocation in any calendar year in the event of illness or a spouse, child, parent, or domestic partner. At the City's request the employee will provide satisfactory evidence of the facts justifying such absence.

  • Death in Family At the request of the employee, the Employer may grant a leave of absence for other purposes. The terms and conditions of all leaves of absence shall be set forth in writing. The Employer shall grant an automatic leave of absence, if so desired, not to exceed two (2) weeks, in cases of critical illness or injury or death in the employee's immediate family. Any period in excess of two (2) weeks shall require the written consent of the Employer. When possible, the employee shall request such leaves of absence; but in any event, the Employer shall be notified within twenty-four (24) hours.

  • Death in Immediate Family A regularly scheduled employee may be granted up to five days of leave of absence with pay by the Agency/Department Head because of death in the immediate family. An employee shall be allowed to take such leave within a four week period. For purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" means mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, husband, wife, domestic partner (upon submission of an affidavit as defined in the appendices), son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, xxxxxx parent, xxxxxx child, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, or any other person sharing the relationship of in loco parentis; and, when living in the household of the employee, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Entitlement to leave of absence under this subsection shall be only for all hours the employee would have been scheduled to work for those days granted, and shall be in addition to any other entitlement for sick leave, emergency leave, or any other leave.

  • Violence in the Workplace (a) The parties agree that violence shall be defined as any incident in which an employee is abused, threatened or assaulted while performing his or her work. The parties agree it includes the application of force, threats with or without weapons and severe verbal abuse. The parties agree that such incidents will not be condoned. Any employee who believes he/she has been subjected to such incident shall report this to a supervisor who will make every reasonable effort to rectify the situation. For purposes of sub-article (a) only, employees as referred to herein shall mean all employees of the Employer notwithstanding Article 2.12.

  • Personal Accident On payment of a Claim under Benefit II (a): Death or Permanent Total Disablement, the cover will cease in respect of that Insured Person.

  • Damage to personal clothing An employee shall be reasonably compensated for damage to personal clothing worn on duty, or reimbursed dry cleaning charges for excessive soiling to personal clothing worn on duty, provided the damage or soiling did not occur as a result of the employee’s negligence, or failure to wear the protective clothing provided. Each case shall be determined on its merits by the employer.

  • Harassment in the Workplace The Union and the Employer recognize the right of employees to work in an environment free from personal and sexual harassment ("Harassment"), and the Employer shall take such actions as are necessary respecting an employee engaging in harassment in the workplace.

  • Personal Property Damage Upon submission of reasonable proof the Employer shall repair or indemnify with respect to damage to the chattels of an employee while on duty caused by the actions of a patient, resident or client provided such personal property is an article of use or wear of a type suitable for use while on duty.
