Unpaid Days. In the event a teacher has exhausted available leave days provided for in this Article, said teacher may apply to the Superintendent/Designee for unpaid day(s) on an emergency basis. For the purpose of determining when an emergency exists, “emergency” shall be defined as an unforeseen event which prohibits the teacher from attending to their assigned duties.

Unpaid Days. Notwithstanding two (2) previously agreed upon unpaid days (November 3, 2020 and April 2, 2021), two (2) additional unpaid days in Fiscal Year 2020/2021 shall be taken as follows:
Unpaid Days. The District shall grant Employees who work twelve (12) months (2080 hours annually) or more, an unpaid 261st day, on an F.T.E. basis. On Leap Years, the District shall grant Employees who work twelve (12) months (2080 hours annually) or more, an unpaid 262nd day, on an F.T.E. basis. This day must be taken in accordance with existing District leave policies.
Unpaid Days. Days off without pay are highly discouraged due to the impact upon departmental operations. The Director of Food Service may approve, at his/her sole discretion, a day off without pay to address extenuating circumstances that necessitate an unpaid absence from work. Each request will be reviewed on its own merit. Factors to be considered in approving or denying such leave requests are frequency of request, time of year request is made, and estimated availability of substitutes. Decisions made by the Food Services Director are final and not subject to grievance.

Unpaid Days. Teachers will be granted up to five (5) unpaid days upon request, such request to be made with as much notice as possible. Requests may be granted provided: (1) there is sufficient Occasional Teacher coverage, and (2) it is reasonable to grant the unpaid day of leave having regard to the plans in the classroom for the specified day.
