DEFINITION OF ABSENTEEISM. Any scheduled work session during which an employee is not present, including tardiness in excess of two (2) hours. Days absent shall include all absences except: • Layoff due to lack of work • Permission - approved by the supervisor prior to the date of absence • Hospitalization or outpatient procedure performed at a hospital - employee bears burden of proofDeath in family - as defined in the collective bargaining agreementJury duty - as defined in the collective bargaining agreement • Disciplinary action - time off without pay • Vacation - scheduled and approved • Military duty - as defined in the collective bargaining agreement • Subpoena - to appear in courtWork accident - work related accident or injury as defined under worker’s Compensation • State of weather emergency - where an official state of emergency has travel restrictions • Arrests - and incarcerated- if acquitted • Community service - as a registered participant in a community service, i.e., ambulance, fire fighter, with supervisor’s prior approval • Off for union business with prior approval • Absences that by law are covered by FMLA • Where state and Federal law prohibit an employee from working (Department of Transportation or Department of Agriculture)

  • Absenteeism No employee may absent himself from his work during the hours in which the establishment is open without the express permission of his employer except on account of illness and/or injuries or for causes beyond the control of such employee. An employee shall, within 24 hours of his failure to report for work, cause his employer to be notified thereof in the most expeditious manner available.

  • Notification of Absence To be entitled to payment in accordance with this clause the employee shall meet the following criteria;

  • Excessive absenteeism The parties recognize that every employee has a duty to be reliably present at work, and that failure to confine sick leave usage to accrued and available sick leave raises the possibility of discipline for excessive absenteeism. Such cases, however, are subject to just cause review and require systematic examination of relevant factors, including but not limited to:

  • Definition of a Grievance A grievance is defined as a dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation or application of the specific terms and conditions of this Agreement.

  • Excused Absences Absences will be excused only under the following circumstances.

  • Unexcused Absences Employees who are absent without approved leave (with the exception of emergencies) may be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge from employment.

  • Definition of Service Fast Post‐Fault Active Power Recovery is the recovery of a Providing Unit’s MW Output to at least 90% of its pre‐Fault Disturbance MW Output within 250ms of the voltage at the Providing Unit’s Connection Point recovering to at least 90% of its pre‐Fault Disturbance value for any Fault Disturbance that is cleared within 900ms. The Providing Unit must be exporting Active Power to the Power System and must remain connected to the Power System for at least 15 minutes following the Fault Disturbance.

  • Definition of Total Disability Total disability means that the employee is unable, because of sickness or accident, to perform the duties of their regular occupation. This definition applies for the first twenty-four (24) months of payments. After this time, the inability to perform an occupation for which the employee is reasonably fitted by training, education or experience will constitute total disability. It is not required that an employee be confined to home, but they must be under the regular care of a physician.

  • Excused Absence No later than the 8th consecutive day of a pupil’s absence, CONTRACTOR shall notify LEA of such absence. If CONTRACTOR fails to provide such notice by the 8th day of consecutive absence, CONTRACTOR shall not be compensated for services delivered during continuing absence after the 8th consecutive day of absence. The LEA shall not be responsible for payment for more than eight (8) cumulative days of excused absences in one semester unless a written time extension is granted by XXX. XXX shall not be responsible for payment for days of unexcused absences. All excused absences must be verified and a copy must be submitted to LEA with the monthly invoice. All documentation must be kept for at least five (5) years from the date of origination. Only the individuals listed below may verify the reason for absence:

  • Definition of Grievance A grievance shall be defined as any difference arising out of the interpretation, application, administration, or alleged violation of the Collective Agreement.
