Definition of Status. I. Regular employees - All employees who have successfully completed any required probationary period(s). Regular employees fall into one (1) of the following categories:
Definition of Status a) A regular full-time employee is defined as one who is regularly scheduled on the duty roster and works on a continuous basis, in excess of forty-eight (48) hours per two (2) week period. Definition of Status a. That a Contractor is an independent contractor performing contracted services for Board and is not an employee of Board. Contractor shall not necessarily be entitled to retirement, leave, group health insurance, or any other benefit that might accrue to an employee of Board and shall not be covered by Board’s Workmen’s Compensation Insurance.

A temporary employee shall be deemed to be an employee hired on a day-to-day basis. Temporary employees shall not acquire seniority or be covered by the provisions of this Agreement, or be retained in employment when seniority employees in the bargaining unit are laid off in a reduction of force. A part-time employee may acquire seniority for the purpose of layoff and recall on a seniority list restricted to part-time employees by working ninety (90) calendar days for the Board, and such an employee shall be credited with one week’s seniority for each forty (40) hours worked.
