Route Vacancies. If during the school year a regular route of four (4) hours or more and any mid-day route becomes available, it will be offered to bid. All other vacancies will be filled by seniority and based on the driver's availability.
Route Vacancies. Route vacancies shall be posted for ten days and filled in accordance to the vacancy provision as follows: The posting shall include bus number, route pick up areas, estimated starting and ending times, time of first pick- up and total number of paid hours. Route vacancies shall be filled based on sen- iority. Any routes remaining shall be filled in accordance with the vacancy provision of the agreement.
Route Vacancies. 1. Permanent route vacancies occurring after the August bidding shall be posted in the truck driverwork locations for five (5) work days. 2. During the posting period, truck drivers may bid on the posted vacancy by submitting a written request for such vacancy to the designated Human Resources administrator. 3. Route Vacancies. 1. When a route is established and/or becomes open, the employees may bid for this route and the senior employee who meets the requirements shall be granted preference for this route. 2. Should the senior employee be denied the route, reasons for this denial shall be given in writing to said employee. If said employee disagrees with the reason for such denial, it may become a proper subject for the grievance procedure. 3. Route vacancies will be posted on the bulletin board for a period of five (5) working days setting forth the minimum requirements for such vacancies or new positions. All interested employees must apply in writing within this five (5) day period. After a driver accepts a run within the five (5) day period, his/her previous run or a run of like nature will be advertised within five (5) working days. 4. Routes vacant due to the temporary absence of a regular bus driver shall not be subject to the provisions of this article and may be filled by the Employer on a temporary basis. If the route vacant consists of a noon run, regular drivers will be given first preference to take that noon run. Provided, however, if any temporary leave of absence extends beyond the school year the position may be declared open if there is no indication from the driver of intent to return. 5. Any driver who has a noon run as part of their regular route and signs for a different route may, at their discretion, take the noon run and the new route or drop the noon run. a. Any driver who has a noon run may drop the noon run and keep the rest of their route. b. Any noon run that becomes open will be posted.

Route Vacancies. A driver who bids on a vacant route has twenty-four (24) hours after being offered the route to inform the Transportation Director as to their acceptance or withdrawal from the route. Drivers without a route and Probationary drivers must be available by phone to fill vacancies on school days between 6:00 am and 9:00 am and between 1:45 pm and 4:45 pm. If a driver declines a run or does not answer a call on two consecutive attempts to be called in shall forfeit their next turn in the field trip rotation. A driver that does not answer a call directly will be skipped and the next driver will be called. Drivers without a route and Probationary drivers will be allowed to give "unavailable dates" to management for consideration. These dates must be given at least one week in advance.
Route Vacancies. Vacant and New Routes will also be bid by seniority. If a route becomes vacant after the start of the school year it will be filled according to the procedures listed below:
Route Vacancies. Routes that become vacant shall be placed up for bid in accordance with Section 6.3. All Regular and Temporary Drivers shall be eligible to bid. The most senior Driver shall be assigned to the route. Any route vacated as a result of the bid procedure shall also be placed up for bid.

In an effort to avoid so called "domino effect" only a total of three drivers, based on seniority, will be permitted to fill vacancies occurring as a result of an employee's termination, retirement, etc. or as a result of adding additional runs after the beginning of the school year. If a vacancy becomes available during the summer, the position shall be filled based on seniority.
Route Vacancies. All route vacancies shall be bid by seniority, with the most senior employee in each classification having the first choice of routes and all others following in order of seniority within the classification. Major revisions as determined by management to a route shall require the routes to be re-bid.
