Early Start (Employee Request) a. An employee may request to commence his or her Day Shift prior to 4.30am. Where this request is made to the Company and the early start is agreed, the employee will not be paid the Night Shift or Alternating Day & Night Shift rate of pay or Meal Allowance (unless the full working hours justify the payment of a Meal Allowance i.e. the employee works 9.5-hours or more after breaks). Rather, the Day Shift rate of pay will apply for all hours worked. An employee should not unreasonably refuse to agree to a roster change in relation to start times. The Company will not unreasonably refuse a employee’s request due to personal circumstances to be excused from a change to his or her start time as set out in this clause. b. An employee may request to commence his or her Ordinary Shift (i.e. a Monday) on a Sunday. Where this request is made to the Company and the early start is agreed, the employee will be paid the Day Shift pay inclusive of Alternating Shift Allowance (if applicable), rather, than the Sunday rate of pay.
