Employee Initiated Span of Working Hours. 48. The General Agreement provides employees with the capacity to request to work their ordinary hours outside the span of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and for employers to approve such requests.
Employee Initiated Span of Working Hours. Notwithstanding clause 31.2, where the officer requests and the Commission approves, an officer may work their ordinary hours outside the span of 7:00 am to 6:00pm. The working of ordinary hours outside the span of 7:00am to 6:00pm may only be implemented at an officer’s request. Agreements under the above clause are to be in writing and must specify the duration of the agreement, and the times during which ordinary hours may be worked. Where written agreement is reached between the Commission and an officer for the officer to work their ordinary hours outside the span of 7:00am to 6:00pm no overtime or shift work penalties shall be applied to those hours.
