Investigation of Grievances. A principal or head administrator shall allow the UNION delegate or his or her designee a reasonable period of time during the school day to investigate grievances. In the event clarification is necessary as to what constitutes reasonable time, the Director of Employee Engagement, after consultation with the UNION, shall make the final determination. Prior to the initial conference and upon the request of the UNION delegate or his or her designee, the principal or head administrator shall provide the UNION with access to and copies of all existing and available documents that are relevant to the allegations in the grievance, including all documents supporting the BOARD’s actions, and shall timely supplement this production if additional documents become available. The UNION President or his or her designee shall be accorded all the rights of the UNION delegate in any school or unit. Time allowed shall be confined to investigating grievances that have been brought to the principal’s or head administrator’s attention.
Investigation of Grievances. The employer recognizes the right of Shop Stewards to investigate grievances without hindrance or coercion in an effort to settle them. It is understood that there will be no general stoppage of work and that no more than an hour will be spent investigating grievances during working hours. Shop Stewards shall obtain the permission of their Supervisor or Manager, or in their absence, their Team Lead when it is necessary to conduct an investigation. Shop Stewards shall also obtain permission from the Supervisor or Manager, or in their absence, the Team Lead of the area in which they are conducting their investigation when it is necessary to conduct an investigation. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Union will have the right at any time to have the assistance of a representative of the Canadian Union of Public Employees when dealing or negotiating with the City. Such representative shall have access to the City’s premises in order to investigate and assist in the settlement of a grievance.
Investigation of Grievances. Investigation of grievances shall, when possible, take place outside of working hours. If necessary, the Superintendent may authorize such investigation during working hours provided that such paid time is used in an economical manner.
Investigation of Grievances. The Company and the Union agree that each has the right to investigate the circumstances surrounding and relating to any grievance, and agree to assist each other in the conduct of such investigations. Investigation of Grievances. The Bargaining Unit Xxxxxxx shall be allowed to investigate grievances on working time when it is not possible to perform the investigation outside of working time. When it is necessary to investigate a grievance on working time, the Bargaining Unit Xxxxxxx shall first obtain permission from the District's Personnel Officer, which permission will not be unreasonably withheld. Otherwise, investigation of grievances shall be performed during non-working time.
