Equality & Diversity. This lettings plan is intended to work alongside the Equality and Diversity policies of both Cornwall Council and Devon and Cornwall Housing Ltd. It should ensure that the assessment and nomination process does not discriminate against households and enables applicants with diverse needs to access accommodation on this scheme. The aim is that the residents of Station Court as a whole will reflect the diversity of the community.

Equality & Diversity. The DBS strongly recommends to e-RBs that, when determining how data will be collected from applicants, they give due consideration to equality & diversity matters (e.g. with respect to: disability, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion). The DBS has a confidential checking process for Transgender applicants who do not wish to reveal details of their previous identity to the person who asked them to complete an application form for a DBS check. This transgender process is not available through the normal paper or e-bulk application process. RBs should make applicants aware of this process. Further information is contained on DBS’s website regarding this process.

In our whole of institution approach to fair access and student success (figure 1), equality and diversity is an overarching theme, emphasising its importance. This will include, but not be limited to ensuring that: 4.3.1.1 The Service Provider Staff used for the Services shall be trained in, and aware of, the provisions of the Equality Xxx 0000; and 4.3.1.2 The behaviours and Services provided shall reflect the ethos of the Equality Act in terms of non-discrimination, accessibility, and promotion of the key facets of the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED).
