Flexible work arrangements for Saturday & Sunday. In the instance where flexible work arrangements apply as per clause 27.6 & 27.5 (Alternate shift arrangements & Change of rostered start and finish times, shift and department), an employee may work on a Saturday and Sunday as a part of their standard shift arrangement. In this case the employee would not be entitled to an overtime penalty rate for the Saturday and Sunday as this is deemed to be part of their ordinary hours of work. However, if they work on days which are not part of his or her ordinary hours of work the employee shall be paid on the first overtime day i.e. the first day worked outside their standard shift, at the rate of time and a half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day. On the second overtime day i.e. the second day worked outside their standard shift in the same pay period, the employee shall be paid at a rate of double time. Example: Xxxx and his team have changed their ordinary working week to a Wednesday – Sunday arrangement. At the end of Xxxx’s shift on Sunday his Supervisor Xxxx asks him to work on Monday as they are falling behind in assembly. Xxxx works for 8 hours on Monday. Xxxx is paid time and a half for the first 3 hours and double time for the xxxxx 0 hours of work.

Flexible work arrangements for Saturday & Sunday. In the instance where flexible work arrangements apply as per clause (27.6 Alternate shift arrangements), an employee may agree to work on a Saturday and Sunday as a part of their standard shift arrangement paid at ordinary rates, that is the base rate. In this case the employee would not be entitled to an overtime penalty rate for the Saturday and Sunday as this is deemed to be part of their ordinary hours of work. However, if an employee under this arrangement works on days which are not part of his or her ordinary hours of work the employee shall be paid overtime in accordance with clause 29 (Overtime).

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday (a) For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays fall on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; and when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Holiday Scheduling Work assignments for holidays shall be prepared in advance of the holiday and when work is available, employees shall be given an opportunity to request to either work or be off. Such requests shall be granted to the extent possible in keeping with the operating needs of the work unit. When all requests cannot be granted within a classification and within a work unit, they shall be granted on a rotating basis so that each employee’s desires will be met as many times as is possible for each year, subject to Paragraph

  • Saturday and Sunday Work Week: Five (5) consecutive days per week, Sunday to Saturday. Work Day: Seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours to be scheduled within the hours of operation.
