If the certificate is not obtained within the two year period, the incumbent employee will revert to Maintenance Level Further, it is agreed that the new qualification requirements for Maintenance Level will not supercede seniority rights in the event of a layoff. Xxxx Xxxxx Manager PAID EDUCATION LEAVE The Company agrees to pay into a special fund one cent per hour per employee for all hours worked for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Xxxx paid education leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the employee's skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies to be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established by the International Union, and sent by the Company to Local Xxx Xxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx. Deductions shall be made in the current year in the following manner: First Quarter: Payable to Fund: Second Quarter: Payable to Fund: Third Quarter: Payable to Fund: October to December by of January January to March by April to June by of July Fourth Quarter: July to September Payable to Fund: by of October and so on each Year of the Agreement The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit, selected by the Union to attend such courses, will be granted a leave of absence, without pay, for twenty (20) days of class time, plus travel time, where necessary.Said leave of absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Employees on such leave of absence will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.
