FUT. The general Flemish Trust Fund to UNESCO (FUT) provides for the support of activities within the other UNESCO domains and is managed by the Flemish Department of Foreign Affairs. Since 2001 Flanders has contributed more than 4 million euros to the FUT. In addition to the 906.900 euros of support to UNESCO projects before the signature of the FUT, this amounts to nearly 5 million euros or almost 7 million USD. Initially, this contribution was preferably intended for projects in the sectors of: • Education for all and the implementation of the Dakar framework • Education on and the cultural approach of prevention of and care for AIDS/HIV • Cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue • Preservation and maintenance of cultural heritage • Communication and media Until 2010, projects were developed around these main lines.
