Granting of Personal Leave. The Chief Executive may grant personal leave with pay, subject to available credits, for a period of absence when the employee applies for personal leave due to personal illness or injury or for the care of a member of the employee’s immediate family or household who is sick and, subject to clause 70.23, produces documentary evidence.

Granting of Personal Leave. An employee shall be granted personal leave with pay for the purpose of marriage or when he or she is unable to perform his or her duties because of illness or injury or unexpected family related responsibilities or circumstances not directly attributable to the employee provided that the employee satisfies the Employer of this condition in such manner and at such time as may be determined by the Employer and has the necessary personal leave credits. If the period of personal leave with pay does not exceed four (4) working days, and unless otherwise informed by the Employer, a statement signed by the employee stating that he or she was unable to perform his or her duties, shall, when delivered to the Employer, be considered as satisfying the employer.
