Grievance Procedure and Discipline. 7.01 For the purpose of this Agreement, a grievance is defined as a dispute an employee or group of employees may have with the Employer in respect to the interpretation, application or violation of the expressed terms of this Agreement and any letters of agreement or supplementary agreements by the Employer. Should an employee or group of employees have a grievance, a sincere and xxxxxxx effort shall be made to adjust the same, promptly, in the following manner: Employees will have five (5) regular working days after the event has occurred or five (5) regular working days from the time the facts became known to the employee up to a maximum of thirty (30) regular working days. Prior to a grievance being presented the aggrieve employee(s) along with their union representative will attempt to seriously resolve the issue with the griever’s immediate supervisor. The supervisor will investigate the issue and get back to the employee within two (2) regular working days. If the griever is unsatisfied with the result they may start the grievance process within five (5) regular working days following the verbal response.

The Director shall meet with the employee, and thereafter render his decision in writing within seven (7) working days of his receipt of the grievance.
