Guidelines for Educational Advancement. The District recognizes additional preparation and training beyond the BA degree in semester hours as set forth on the Salary Schedule. 11.8.1.1 Content taken shall be at the discretion of the Teacher, but must relate to the Teacher’s current work assignment, potential future work assignment, deepening areas of specialization, preparing for new responsibilities in the District, and/or a District or school goal. If it is not related as such, prior approval from the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources shall be required with an explanation of how it is otherwise relevant.

Only credit hours earned since the last educational advancement on the salary schedule qualify. 11.8.1.4 For Teachers employed prior to the 2003–2004 school year, the additional hours necessary to achieve the BA+20 must be earned within the past ten (10) years. Teachers placed on the schedule effective the fall of 2003 and thereafter, will not be governed by this provision. 11.8.1.5 In-service credit earned before the granting of the MA degree may not be applied toward the hours beyond the MA. 11.8.1.6 Classes or programs taken through colleges or universities on the Colorado Department of Education’s (CDE) list of regionally accredited institutions of higher education and/or through Colorado Education Association’s (CEA) COPilot program do not need prior approval. Any other classes, programs, or conferences will require prior written approval by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources or it may not be considered for salary schedule advancement.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • PROCUREMENT ETHICS Contractor understands that a person who is interested in any way in the sale of any supplies, services, construction, or insurance to the State of Utah is violating the law if the person gives or offers to give any compensation, gratuity, contribution, loan, reward, or any promise thereof to any person acting as a procurement officer on behalf of the State of Utah, or who in any official capacity participates in the procurement of such supplies, services, construction, or insurance, whether it is given for their own use or for the use or benefit of any other person or organization.

  • Board of Education If the unit member and the Association are not satisfied with the decision at Stage 2, the Grievance Committee will file an appeal in writing with the Board of Education within fifteen (15) school days after receiving the decision at Stage 2. The official grievance record maintained by the Superintendent of Schools shall be available for the use of the Board of Education.
