While Teachers may submit education credits for lane movement throughout the school year as set forth above, Teachers may only move one adjacent education lane on the salary schedule during a particular school year. Notwithstanding this lane movement limitation, Teachers who earn a Master’s or PhD degree shall be permitted to move multiple education lanes within a particular school year. Additionally, an exception to be able to move multiple education lanes in a particular school year may be made with the written approval of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. For example, a Teacher who is earning a second Master’s degree or additional endorsement may receive approval for this exception. For the 2020-21 school year, lane movement occurred normally for Teachers who earned Master’s or PhD degrees. Lane movement for all other Teachers was suspended until the outcome of the District’s mill levy override election was known. When the mill levy override passed, Teachers who previously turned in qualifying credits and could have advanced on the salary schedule earlier in the school year were paid retroactively to such time as they would have qualified for such movement had lane movement not been suspended.
