Health Requirement. (a) Every employee reporting for work represents that he/she is physically able to fully perform the duties of his/her position, unless reasonable accommodation has been made in accordance with handicapped laws.
(b) If required by law, every school employee (as a condition of continued employment) shall have a valid statement of freedom from communicable tuberculosis in his/her personnel file in accordance with law. The administration will notify employees, through staff publications, of free and low fee clinics. A free district clinic will be available at times when the majority of employees are in need of renewal of their statements.
(c) Any Board-required physical examination(s) or test(s), not covered by health insurance, shall be by Board-appointed physician(s) and at Board expense.
Health Requirement. (a) It is required that bus drivers be given annual physical examinations by a physician selected and paid by the Board of Education. Any driver passing the physical examination shall be deemed to be capable of performing all duties normally assigned.
(b) Should a health condition arise making it impossible for a driver to qualify for driving according to state statutes, such driver shall be placed on a medical leave in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of ARTICLE 23.
Health Requirement. As a condition of employment, a new employee must have a physical examination and submit to the Board a satisfactory health report before starting to work, including a tuberculosis test. Any employee returning from a medical leave of absence may be required to submit a physical examination by a District selected physician at District expense.
Health Requirement. 12.03.01 : All school employees are required by law to furnish chest x-ray reports or negative T.B. skin test reports to the Board of Education; any cost involved shall be paid by the Board.
12.03.02 : Employees who show a positive reaction upon taking a skin test will submit to a chest x-ray by the Macomb County Health Department within two (2) weeks from date of notification of such reaction or within two (2) weeks after receiving notification from the Health Department to report for an x-ray. Employees on scheduled work will be temporarily released from their job without loss of pay provided prior approval is granted by the immediate supervisor.
Health Requirement. Any employee returning from a medical leave of absence may be required to submit to a physical examination by a District selected physician at the District’s expense. In the event of a dispute over an employee’s ability to return to work after an absence, the matter shall be referred to a neutral physician mutually agreed upon by the Employee’s physician and the District’s physician. The District shall prepare a statement of the issue to be submitted to the neutral physician to which a copy of the job description of the employee shall be attached. The decision of the neutral physician so selected shall be final. His/her fees shall be shared equally by the Employer and the employee.
Health Requirement. As a condition of employment, a new employee must have a physical examination providing evidence of physical capability to satisfactorily perform duties of the position. The physical examination is paid for by the employee. The examination must contain a chest x-ray showing freedom from tuberculosis.
Health Requirement. The Board will pay the cost for any physical exami- nation / test mandated by the Department of Trans- portation provided the employee uses the provider(s) selected by the Board for which a direct billing (to the District) relationship shall be established.
Health Requirement. The Employer reserves the right to request an alternative product should any product used by the Contractor have an adverse effect on staff’s health and overall well-being.
