Holidays During Winter Recess. Employees whose regular assignments do not 12 require their attendance at work during the winter recess period, but who have been 13 compensated for any portion of the working day next preceding or immediately 14 following the recess period, shall be entitled to pay for legal holidays. Assigned time 15 shall be the basis for all holiday pay. (See Section E.2.a. of this Article.) 16

Holidays During Winter Recess. As part of the yearly calendar of work days developed with their supervisor, Employees may be asked to work days identified as Winter Recess holidays in Appendix I. If an Employee is required to work one of these days, the Employee will be compensated at a double-time rate. Employees may refuse to work December 24 and 25 and January 1. An Employee will not be required to work more than five (5) of the Winter Recess holidays. In the event the Employer determines that there is work to be performed for which the Employee regularly assigned to perform that work is not available, this work will be made available to other bargaining unit members the Employer determines are qualified to perform the work. If more than one bargaining unit member is available to perform the work, the most senior Employee shall have preference.

  • Holidays During Vacation If a paid holiday falls or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be granted an additional day's vacation with pay for each holiday in addition to his/her regular vacation time.

  • Illness During Vacation (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only)

  • Work During Vacation Should an employee who has commenced his scheduled vacation and agrees upon request by the Hospital to return to perform work during the vacation period, the employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times his basic straight time rate for all hours so worked. To replace the originally scheduled days on which such work was performed, the employee will receive one (1) vacation lieu day off for each day on which he has so worked.

  • Holiday During Vacation If a holiday, named under Article 7 of this Agreement, falls within the vacation period of an employee, he shall be granted an additional day's pay in lieu of the holiday.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours Solicitation of Union membership or collection or checking of dues will not be conducted during working time. The Company agrees not to discriminate in any way against any employee for Union activity, but such activity shall not be carried on during working time, except as specifically allowed by the provisions of this Agreement.

  • Bereavement During Vacation Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.

  • Time off during notice period During the period of notice of termination given by the employer, an employee shall be allowed up to one day's time off without loss of pay for the purpose of seeking other employment. This time off shall be taken at times that are convenient to the employee after consultation with the employer.

  • Communication during parental leave (a) Where an employee is on parental leave and a definite decision has been made to introduce significant change at the workplace, the employer shall take reasonable steps to: (i) make information available in relation to any significant effect the change will have on the status or responsibility level of the position the employee held before commencing parental leave; and (ii) provide an opportunity for the employee to discuss any significant effect the change will have on the status or responsibility level of the position the employee held before commencing parental leave. (b) The employee shall take reasonable steps to inform the employer about any significant matter that will affect the employee’s decision regarding the duration of parental leave to be taken, whether the employee intends to return to work and whether the employee intends to request to return to work on a part-time basis. (c) The employee shall also notify the employer of changes of address or other contact details which might affect the employer’s capacity to comply with (a) above.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.
